Chandigarh, January 18: As part of the ‘Go Global’ campaign initiated by Yuvsatta (youth for peace)-an NGO, an ‘India-Bulgaria Children’s Friendship Club’ was launched today at St. Stephen’s School of Chandigarh on collaboration with two Schools and one partner NGO Association Footura at Sofia- the beautiful capital city of Bulgaria

Welcoming the move Mr. Louis Lopez, School Principal said that both India and Bulgaria are age-old civilizations, where people value their rich heritage and culture. Moreover, such initiatives empower students to assume active leadership roles to face and resolve global challenges and to become proactive contributors to a more peaceful, tolerant, inclusive and secure world. As a teachers, they always welcome any new idea or suggestion to equip young students with practical tools of knowledge to integrate into an increasingly interconnected world, live and promote a sustainable way of life and understand their role and responsibility as a global citizens.

Mr. Lopez also added that they have chosen one boy and one girl from each section of Class VI to VIII, with a total of 30 students for ‘India-Bulgaria Children’s Friendship Club’, so that whatever they plan and do, percolates down to other students as well.

Giving information about major highlights of the initiative, Pramod Sharma, coordinator of Yuvsatta said that our country enjoys a very close relationship with Bulgaria. And they have designed the ‘India Bulgaria Children’s Friendship Club’ activities in a way that children’s from both sides will not only learn about each-others country, culture, educational and other aspects of life, but will also become good friends for a better world of love, peace and humanism above all. They also plan to celebrate each-others festivals and important days. Plus to cement their ties further, exchange visits of teachers and students from both sides are also planned.
