SSWC&MA approves 16 proposals for setting up new industrial units

6th meeting of the State Single Window Clearance & Monitoring Authority (SSWC&MA) was held on under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur here yesterday evening, in which the Authority approved 16 proposals for setting up new industrial units and for expansion of existing units involving a total proposed investment of approx. Rs. 309.45 Crore and employment potential of about 1000 persons which shows that the State continues to attract investment despite of overall slowdown in the economy.

The Authority approved new proposals of M/s Global Castings, Village Harraipur, Tehsil Baddi, District Solan for manufacturing of Automotive and Machine Cast Iron Parts and of M/s Time Technoplast Ltd. Village Karuwana, Tehsil Baddi, District Solan for manufacturing of PVC Double and Single Loop and Wipe Mattings. It also approved proposal of M/s DS Drinks and Beverages Pvt. Ltd. Unit-V, Village Damowala, Baddi, District Solan for manufacturing of Carbonated Fruit Drinks, Carbonated Soft Drinks and of M/s Jai Guruji Enterprises, IA Tehaliwal, District Una for manufacturing of POP, Filament (Thread For Kites/Manza).

The Authority also gave its approved new proposals of M/s NEC Rotoflex Packaging Corporation, Shed No. 4,5, Cremica Food Park, Singhan Tehsil Haroli, Una for manufacturing of Apple Juice Concentrate and M/s Alco Spirits Private Limited, Village Kundla, Kala Amb, Nahan, Sirmour for manufacturing of Country Liqour and IMFL have been approved.

Among the expansion proposals, the proposals of M/s Modulus Cosmetics, Village Gondpur Jaichand, Teh Haroli, District Una for manufacturing of Soap Noodle, Laundry Soap, Hydrogenated Refined Palm Oil Flakes, Refined Glycerin, M/s Auro Dyeing, A unit of Vardhman Textiles Limited, Village Dhakhru Majra and Katha, Tehsil Baddi, District Solan for manufacturing of Dyed Yarn, Dyed Fiber, M/s Emmforce Inc, Plot No. 3&5, EPIP I IA, Jharmajri, Baddi, Distt. Solan for manufacturing of Tractor And Auto Parts, M/s The Indian Card clothing Company Ltd., VPO Manjholi, Tehsil Nalagarh, District Solan for manufacturing of Metallic Card Clothing, Accura Card Clothing, Tops Card Clothing, M/s Sarv Bio Labs Pvt Ltd., Village Johron, Kala Amb, Nahan, Sirmour for manufacturing of Thiocolchicoside, Colchicine, Paclitaxel, Hyosine, 10-Dab, M/s Amco Industries, Village Shivpur, PO Mubarikpur, Distt. Solan for manufacturing of Glycerin, Distilled Fatty Acid, Soap Noodles, M/s Nayasa Multiplast, Village Bela Bathri, Tehsil Haroli, Una for manufacturing of Steel Bottles other Steel Products, Electric Tiffin, Insulated Carry, Household Articles Bottles, Household Articles etc. M/s Livguard batteries Pvt Ltd Unit-1, Village Shivpur Mahal, Amb, District Una for manufacturing of Electric Vehicles covering Electric Bikes Electric Rickshaw and Pickup Trucks, Voltage Stabilizers And Transformers, Inverter/ UPS, Lead Acid Batteries etc. and M/s Livguard Batteries Private Limited Unit-3, Village Lehi, Baddi, Solan for manufacturing of Batteries Plates and Lead Acid Batteries for Various Application were approved by the Authority.

CM releases Annual Status of Education Report (Rural) 2018 Himachal Pradesh

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur released ‘Annual Status of Education Report (Rural) 2018 Himachal Pradesh’ yesterday evening, brought out by ASER 2018 a nation-wide survey that provides a snapshot of children’s schooling and learning for a representative sample of children across rural India.

It was found in the survey that students of fifth standard of Himachal Pradesh tops in Language and Mathematics in the country and the learning level of Government Schools in Himachal Pradesh was better than that of Private schools. It also states that 99.7 percent schools in the State have toilet facilities and the enrolment percentage in schools in age group 6 to 14 years was 99.6 percent.

Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Principal Secretary Education K.K. Pant, Director Education Dr. Amarjit Sharma, Director ASER Dr. William Wadhwa and CEO Pratham Dr. Rukmani Bennarji were present on the occasion.

5th BOD of Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam held

A committee would be constituted for better coordination between different departments of the State to ensure effective framing and implementation of various Skill development programmes in the State. This was decided in the meeting 5th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur here yesterday evening.

Chief Minister said that Skill development of the major thrust area and flagship programme of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the State Government was also committed for ensuring Skill upgradation of the youth of the State to make them skilled as per the demand of the industry. He said that as many as 65000 youth were to the skilled under the HP Skill Development Project between 2018-2023. He said that as many as 2880 youth were to be trained by providing Training in Vocational Streams. He said that Bachelor of Vocation Programme has been launched in 12 Degree Colleges in the State.

Jai Ram Thakur said that as many as 560 youth have been enrolled under Graduate Add-on Programme introduced in ten degree colleges for final year students. He said that stress should be laid on the fact that all the training programmes were employment oriented. He said that it should also be ensured that the trainees get employment as soon as they complete their training.

It was also decided in the meeting that positions of District Coordinators be filled up on priority so as to be sure smooth functioning of the Nigam. It was also informed in the meeting that the Nigam plans skilling of 4000 youth under the State Flexi MoUs with Industry of Industrial Bodies like Sector Skill Council.

CM performs Bhoomi Pujan of Gayatri Chetna Kendra at Gusan

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today performed 'Bhoomi Pujan' of Gayatri Chetna Kendra in Gusan village near Mehli here today. Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister said that Gayatri Parivar was doing a commendable service in inculcating values and tradition in the society.

He said that in the present era of cut throat competition and materialistic world, moral value and traditions were eroding at a fast pace. He said that organization like Gayatri Parivar was rendering yeoman's service in upholding the age old traditions and value so that the Nation could once again become 'Vishva Guru'. He said that only those societies progress which respect their culture and traditions.

Chief Minister said that this Centre would go a long way in inculcating rich values and traditions in society. He said that the State Government was committed to ensure that the rich cultural repository of the State was maintained at any cost. He said that the State Government has decided to give Status of 'Second Official Language' to Sanskrit.

Jai Ram Thakur assured the Gayatri Parivar that the State Government would provide all possible help to the Organization for ensuring that the Gayatri Chetna Kendra becomes functional at the earliest.

Head of the Gayatri Parivar Dr Pranav Pandiya while welcoming the Chief Minister said that the Gayatri Parivar was an apolitical organization working for universal peace and brotherhood. He said that the Gayatri Parivar was ensuring that the rich tradition, culture and values of this great nation were preserved and upheld for the generations to come.

CM mourns demise of Gynecologist Dr. Kapil Malhotra

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has mourned the sad demise of Gynecologist Dr. Kapil Malhotra, who passed away Sunday morning.

Chief Minister in his condolence message has said that Himachal has lost a famous doctor and the vacuum created after his death can never be filled.

He expressed deep condolences with the bereaved family members and prayed to the Almighty for peace of the departed soul.
