Chandigarh,22.02.19-Jio added 2.28 lakh subscribers to its customer base in December and was the only private operator to do so, while

State owned BSNL added 9,350 subscribers.

Jio in fact added 21.1 lakh subscribers in nine months (April 2018 to Dec 2018), while all other operators except BSNL lost subscribers in Haryana.

The recently merged Vodafone Idea and Airtel lost 35,594 subscribers and 9,459 subscribers respectively in December, the TRAI report revealed.

In end December 2018, Vodafone Idea had 1.12 crore subscribers, Jio had 68.81 lakh subscribers, BSNL had 49.05 lakh subscribers, while Bharti Airtel had 38.13 lakh customers.

Jio’s subscriber base in end December 2017 was 41.88 lakh having a CMS share of 16.4 % in Haryana. Its subscriber base rose to 68.81 lakh in December 2018, making for 24.86% of the customer market share in the state.

Nationally too Reliance Jio led the way in adding subscribers, having adding 85.64 lakh users in December 2018 and was one of the two operators to have added subscribers, the other being State-run BSNL.
