Two arrested for consuming liquor at public place

Two different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC have been registered in PS-I.T Park, Chandigarh against two persons who were arrested while consuming liquor at public place on 18.03.2019. This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One arrested under NDPS Act

Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Yograj @ Yogi R/o # 535, Village- Burail, Chandigarh from near T-Point, Sector-45/C, Chandigarh and recovered 4.50 gram Heroine from his possession on 18.03.2019. A case FIR No. 70, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against Gambling/Satta

Chandigarh Police arrested Karna R/o # 24, Phase-3, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh, Vijay R/o # 18, Shastri Nagar near Gas agency, Sector-26, Chandigarh and Rajan R/o # 148/A, Phase-3, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh while they were gambling at ground near MC Office, Phase-1, Industrial Area, Chandigarh on 18.03.2019. Total cash Rs. 3,790/- was recovered from them. In this regard, a case FIR No. 76, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Later they were released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Rajesh R/o # 174, Phase-3, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh, Karna R/o # 1428, Mauli Jagran Complex, Chandigarh and Naga Muthu R/o Guru Nanak Colony, Jagatpur, Distt.- Mohali, Punjab while they were gambling near CTU Workshop, Phase-1, Industrial Area, Chandigarh on 18.03.2019. Total cash Rs. 4,040/- was recovered from them. In this regard, a case FIR No. 77, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Later they were released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Sarabjit Ram R/o # 3167, First Floor, Sector-27/D, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Pulsar motor cycle No. GJ-05MN-3974 while parked near his residence on night intervening dated 17/18.03.2019. A case FIR No. 59, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Harmanjot Singh R/o # 2385/B, Block-39, Sector-63, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s bullet motor cycle No. PB-13S-7006 while parked near his residence on night intervening dated 03/04.03.2019. A case FIR No. 22, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Missing/Abduction

A person resident of Village-Khuda Ali Sher, Chandigarh reported that his daughter age about 16 years has been missing from his residence since 17.03.2019. A case FIR No. 51, U/S 363 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh.

A person resident of Village-Maloya, Chandigarh reported that his son age about 13 years has been missing from his residence since 17.03.2019. A case FIR No. 37, U/S 363 IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh.

Robbery

Pardesi @ Chunnu R/o # 1160, First Floor, Sector-52, Chandigarh alleged that Gogi, Gunga, Titu, Vijay, Anil, Ajju and Veeru entered in his residence and beaten, threatened complainant and also robbed 01 mangal sutra, 01 pair silver anklets and cash Rs. 50,000/- on 18.03.2019. They further kidnapped complainant and demanded extortion money from his mother. Later complainant escaped from their confinement. A case FIR No. 65, U/S 450, 394, 342, 346 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Holi Festival

The Holi festival will be celebrated on 21-03-2019 with full enthusiasm by the general public. Keeping in view the past experience wherein youngsters indulged in rash driving, Hooliganism, drunken driving and eve teasing incidents etc., a foolproof Law & Order and Traffic arrangements being made by deploying adequate number of police force i.e GOs-06, SHO/Insprs.-26, NGO/ORs-672, L/ORs-156 total 860 approx. Special focus being given to curb the hooliganism, rash driving and eve teasing incidents. Further from turn Market Sector-11/12 to Market Sector-10 (Geri Route) has been earmarked as “Limited vehicle Zone area”. Total 64 internal Nakas being deployed at different places in the city. All the duties will be on ground at 09:00 AM sharp on 21.03.2019 in all Markets, Sectors, Colonies villages around Girls Hostels, Malls and crowded area for the proper maintenance of Law & order and safety of the people.

Patrolling will be deployed in markets and colony areas. Apart from Challaning, vehicles can be impounded in case of serious violations. All area having girls’ Hostels/PGs will have special deployment of lady police force also. Zero tolerance shall be adopted towards any crime against Women/Children. Creating noise pollution shall attract action under Punjab Police act leading to imprisonment fine and seizure of sound system. Curbing public drinking, drunken driving, triple riding and riding without helmet etc shall be special focus area for police.

ARRESTS
Yesterday at about 5:30 p.m. an information was received that an incident of theft occurred in 1160 A sector 52 pakki colony Chandigarh.On this, police reached the spot where found that the house articles were scattered and locks of trunk (box) were broken.Meanwhile one person namely Pardesi@chinnu s/o Ashok Kumar r/o 1160A sec 52 age 21 yrs chd came in his home and recorded his statement in which he stated that yesterday evening at about 3 pm while he was sit in his home,suddenly four persons namely googi,titu,Vijay,gunga, forcefully entered in his house and attacked with danda's.Further the above said accused brocked the lock of trunk (box)and picked up one Mungal sutra,one pajeb,50000/rs cash.The accused further gave threat to eliminate and to keep silent to the complainant and took him in an auto in house no 338 tin colony sec 52 where three more persons namely anil,ajju,veeru already waiting of them.They all 7 accused bolted the door from inside and beat the complainant..The accused kept the complainant in detention and threatened to cause death or hurt to him. The culprits futher made ransom call of 50000/rs to his mother that to leave him but when they were busy in discussion of further planning of offence,The complainant somehow managed to escape from the clutches of culprits..On this case FIR no 65 dt 18/3/19 u/s 450,394,342,364A IPC has been registered in police station 36.
During investigation, one accused namely Manpreet Singh @ Ajju s/o jarnail Singh r/o 338 Tin colony sec 52 chd has been rounded up by the late evening and further it has come to know that both parties are from criminal background and complainant himself is the accused of Case FIR no 113 dt 20/4/19 u/s 380/411 IPC PS 36 chd.
Other Four accused namely Veeru..Anil..gogi..gunga.. has been also rounded up during night...and involved auto no PB 65AN 2937 used for abduction has been also recovered from their possession.
