Science & Technology makes daily life smooth, easy going and convenient. It also makes us intellectually sound and strong. These were the views expressed by Dr. Mohan Paul Ishar ,Vice Chancellor Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University Bhatinda on the occasion of INNO –Tech 2019 at Science City.

Further he Said that over the decades, innovation and creativity have become critical skills for achieving success in developed economies. Creativity goes hand in hand with innovation. And there is no innovation without creativity. While creativity is the ability to produce new and unique ideas, innovation is the implementation of that creativity - that's the introduction of a new idea, solution, process, or product.

On This occasion Dr. Neelima Jerath, Director General Science City said that setting up of culture of innovation is required for which young generation can play an important role. Young mind are enriched with innovative ideas and it is important to provide a suitable platform like INNO TECH to nurture innovation and creativity in the country. She admired all the young participants for displaying their innovative project models. Further she said that, for motivating the budding innovators and facilitate grass root innovation in science &Technology, PGSC has already setup a Innovation Hub wherein around 500 members are enrolled from school & technical colleges of Punjab. Under the Innovation Hub More than 40 workshops have been successfully conducted on various topics like Robotic , Assembling-dissembling of Electric Iron, Origamy, Science Behind Miracle and Biology etc.

Results of competition: Software Engineering : Chandigarh Engineering College (Project Model :Virtual physical fitness trainer artificial intelligence) and I.K Gujral Punjab Technical University (Project Model : E.L.M Centralized Education Institute System) has won first and second prize. In a Software Polytechnic category Thapar Polytechnic College Patiala ( Project Model: Farming and IOT) stood first and Punjabi University got first prize in a post graduate category(Project Model: Akhar 2016)

Mechatronics (Polytechnic): Polytechnic College Thapar Technology Campus( Project Model: JARVIS), Jagt Ram Polytechnic College HoshiarPur (Project Model: Smart Stick) and Chandigarh Polytechnic College Gharuan Mohali (Project Model: Alpha UAV) has clinched first, second and third prize.

Mechatronics (Engineering): CGC Landran, SAS Nagar ( Projec:tModel: Smart Battery Renting System for Lithiumion batteries),Rayat Group of Institute Roper ( project Model: head Motion controlled wheel chair for Disable Person) and IKG Punjab Technical University Main Campus( Project Model: Smart Extension Board) has achieved first, second and third prize.

Automobile (Engineering) : Chandigarh Engineering College Landran Mohali ( Project Model: Hybrid Tadpole) stood First.

Automobile (Polytechnic ) Mehr Chand Polytechnic College Jalandhar ( Project Model: Automated Traffic Law Enforcement System), (Smart Security Vehicle) has Clinched first and second prize.

Miscellaneous (Engineering): Chandigarh Group of Colleges (Project Model: Ambulance Drone) and Chandigarh Engineering College ( Border Security Device ) has received first and third prize. Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College Ludhiana (project Model: Milestone on Roads) Stood second.

Miscellaneous (Post Graduate): First prize bagged Chitkara University Mohali (Project Model: Warless ECG Monitoring System)

Miscellaneous (Polytechnic): Mehr Chand Polytechnic Jalandhar (Project Model: Crop Harvester),Chandigarh Polytechnic College (Project Model: Accident Detection And Information) and Lovlely Professional University (Project Model: Best Building Plan) clinched first, second and third prize.
