Haryana Police has arrested three members of notorious Kaushal gang, involved in extortion and murder incidents, along with illicit weapons from Rewari.

Chandigarh, March 25 – Haryana Police has arrested three members of notorious Kaushal gang, involved in extortion and murder incidents, along with illicit weapons from Rewari.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that a car, two country made pistols, a ‘desi katta’ and 10 live cartridges have been recovered from their possession.

The arrested accused identified as Jitender alias Jitu and Gurpreet alias Jatta, both resident of Harinagar in Gurugram and Rahul alias Banjara, a native of Bhawani Enclave. The members of Kaushal gang were involved in various cases of extortion and other criminal activities in Rewari and other districts of Haryana.

He said that police had arrested all the accused from car during a night checking drive near Garhi Bolani road, Sector-18. They were produced in the court, which remanded them to two-day police custody.

With a view to ensure peaceful polling in Haryana during General Election to Lok Sabha-2019 to be held on May 12, the district Election Office, Sirsa has identified 480 polling stations of Sirsa

Chandigarh, March 25: With a view to ensure peaceful polling in Haryana during General Election to Lok Sabha-2019 to be held on May 12, the district Election Office, Sirsa has identified 480 polling stations of Sirsa Parliamentary Constituency as highly vulnerable and vulnerable. Out of these 254 polling stations were declared as highly sensitive and 226 polling stations as sensitive.

While giving details, Returning Officer of Sirsa Lok Sabha constituency, Mr Prabhjot Singh said that in 42-Kalanwali (reserved), 51 polling stations have been declared as highly sensitive and 67 polling stations as sensitive. In 43-Dabwali assembly constituency, 66 polling stations have been declared highly sensitive and 54 as sensitive. Thus 120 polling booths of Dabwali assembly constituency have been identified as highly vulnerable and vulnerable which is the highest in the parliamentary constituency. In the 44-Rania assembly constituency, 74 polling stations have been identified as highly sensitive and 19 as sensitive. In 45-Sirsa Assembly constituency, 28 polling stations have been identified as highly sensitive and 27 as sensitive. Similarly, in the 46-Ellanabad assembly constituency, 35 polling stations have been identified as highly sensitive and 59 as sensitive areas.

He said that keeping in view the incidents during the previous elections, the entire parliamentary area has been categorized into highly sensitive and sensitive areas. As per the directions of Election Commission of India, , all these polling stations would be specially monitored and the Micro Observer would be deployed in the polling Stations who would give information of each moment to the election office. Apart from this, police force would also be specially deployed in these polling stations.

He said that Flying Squad and Static Surveillance team would specially keep vigil on these areas and all the teams have been instructed to make video-recording of all kind of incidents. He said that incidents of illegal distribution of funds, various types of gift items for influencing voters would be liable for punishment under various sections of The representation of People Act, 1951 and Indian penal code (IPC).

Haryana Police has arrested two persons on the charges of smuggling 200 kg of doda post (opium leftover) from a truck in district Sirsa.

Chandigarh, March 25 – Haryana Police has arrested two persons on the charges of smuggling 200 kg of doda post (opium leftover) from a truck in district Sirsa. The accused were transporting the narcotic substance from Rajasthan by hiding it behind the bags of garlic.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that arrested accused have been identified as driver and owner of truck Shishpal, a resident of Bahia and Jitender Singh alias Kala of Kussar. He said that both the accused have been arrested after getting specific information about smuggling of narcotics.

Divulging the details, he said that CIA team during patrolling has got specific inputs concerned with the smuggling of narcotic substance. Acting on this, a truck coming from Rawatsar side was intercepted at a blockade. When searched, the police team recovered 10 bags of doda post (200 kg) hidden beneath garlic bags.

A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act was registered against both the accused in Ellenabad Police Station. Accused would be taken on remand by producing them in the court so that involvement of others in this racket of drug peddling could be unearthed, he added.
