Chandigarh,23.04.19-The History Department of MCM DAV College for Women organised Poster making and Slogan writing competitions on the theme 'Remembering Jallianwala Bagh Massacre'. The competitions were organised to mark the 100 years of one of the gravest crimes against humanity on the day of Baisakhi. The competitions witnessed enthusiastic participation of students who poured their hearts out in slogans and drawings to pay tribute to the martyrs of Jallianawala. Soaked in the colours of patriotism, the participants' creativity and remarkable representation of the theme was appreciated by one and all. In slogan writing, Ruchika bagged the 1st position while Shivangi and Himani came 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Nehal grabbed the 1st position in poster making, Riya stood 2nd and Davinder came 3rd.

Lauding the remarkable display of artistic prowess to pay tribute to our freedom fighters, Principal Dr.Nisha Bhargava said that the youth needs to be sensitised about the price of freedom so that they treasure that freedom and shoulder the responsibility of preserving it and taking our nation to greater heights of glory.
