Chandigarh November 11: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has announced an incentive of Rs. 100 per quintal to the small and marginal farmers to prevent stubble burning. This amount would only be applicable to the non-basmati paddy procured by the Government and will be given through the Deputy Commissioner.

In addition to this, taking a major step, in the direction of preventing stubble burning, the Chief Minister has also announced that for the In Situ and Ex Situ management of crop residue by the small and the marginal farmers of non Basmati paddy, the State Government would bear a sum of Rs 1000 per acre as operational cost to the Custom Hiring Centers (CHC) or Straw Baler unit owners.

The Chief Minister has directed the Renewable energy and Industry and Transport Department to establish a link for utilising the crop residue balers in Industry for the proper utilisation of the crop residue.

Sharing more information in this regard, a spokesman of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department said that the Deputy Commissioner of every district has appointed one Nodal officer in every village for the management of crop residue and its proper Ex-situ and In-situ management.

He further informed that Senior rank IAS officers has also been appointed for the guidance and monitoring of this scheme. The officer which have been appointed for the districts included Mr P.K Das for Kaithal district, Mr Devender Singh for Fatehabad district, Mr T.C Gupta for Sirsa district, Dr Mahavir Singh for Jind district and Mr Anurag Rastogi for Hisar district.

Haryana Government has decided to extend the time period for passing of resolution from September 30 to December 31 of the year for prohibiting sale of liquor within the area of Gram Panchayat.

Chandigarh Nov 11: Haryana Government has decided to extend the time period for passing of resolution from September 30 to December 31 of the year for prohibiting sale of liquor within the area of Gram Panchayat.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of Excise and Taxation Department said that an announcement to this effect was made by Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal during the recent session of Vidhan Sabha. He had also announced that the resolution for prohibition in the village would be passed by the Gram Sabha instead of majority of Panches to allow more participation in decision making.

He said that in order to implement the announcement made by the Chief Minister on the floor of the House, a proposal to amend sub section 1 and 2 of section 31 is under consideration of the government. Apart from this, sub section 2 of section 31 is also proposed to be amended to extend the time period for receipt of resolution passed under sub section 1 in the office of Excise and Taxation Commissioner from October 31 to January 15. These amendments would be carried out by the Development and Panchayats Department, he added.

The spokesman said that as per provisions of section 31 of the Haryana Panchayati Raj Act, 1994, prohibition could be introduced within the local area of Gram Panchayat where a resolution is passed by majority of Panches holding office for the time being, at any time, during the period commencing on April 1 and ending with September 30 of any year.

Chandigarh, November 11 – The date to apply for Haj Yatra by interested pilgrims has been extended from November 10, 2019 to December 5, 2019.

Sharing more information, Chairman, Haryana State Haj Committee, Chaudhary Aurangzeb said that the Haj Committee India, Mumbai has extended the date and now the interested pilgrims can now apply online till December 5, 2019. He said that it is mandatory for the pilgrims to have a Machine-Readable Passport (MRP) and the passport must be valid by January 20, 2021.

He further informed that the persons applying for Haj have also been requested to upload their prescribed Haj application forms online on the Haj Management Software, after which keep a copy of the application with them. He informed that a copy of application form and passport will be asked from the successful candidates in the draw for Haj 2020.

While giving this information here today, a spokesman of the Department said that the examinations would take place at Saarthak Government Integrated Senior Secondary School, Sector 12 A, Panchkula in morning and evening shifts.

He said that paper for Excise and Taxation Department would be conducted from December 11 to 20. Paper in Subject-I (Law of Crimes) would be held on December 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. whereas paper in subject-II (Excise Law) would be held the same day from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. He said that paper in Subject-III (Allied Taxes) would be held on December 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and in Subject-IV (Sales Tax Law) from 2 pm to 5 pm. Similarly, paper in Subject-V (Book Keeping) would be held on December 13 from 10 am to 1 pm and in Subject-VI (Computer Operation) from 2 pm to 5 p.m. on the same day, he added.

No direct application would be entertained by the Central Committee of Examination, he added.

More than 66.58 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy has so far arrived in Haryana Mandis as compared to over 64.68 lakh MT of paddy arrived during the corresponding period last year.

Chandigarh, Nov 11– More than 66.58 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy has so far arrived in Haryana Mandis as compared to over 64.68 lakh MT of paddy arrived during the corresponding period last year.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said that out of the total arrival of paddy, government agencies had so far procured over 62.02 lakh MT of paddy whereas the remaining quantity of over 4.55 lakh MT of paddy was procured by the millers.

He said that more than 33.58 lakh MT of paddy have purchased by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department. Over 19.43 lakh MT by Hafed, over 8.95 lakh MT have been purchased by the Haryana Warehousing Corporation and 4,572 MT have been purchased by the Food Corporation of India.

He said that more than 16.76 lakh MT paddy has arrived in mandis of Karnal, 11.42 lakh MT in Kurukshetra, over 8.36 lakh MT in Ambala and over 8.11 lakh MT in Fatehabad. Similarly, over 6.95 lakh MT in Yamunanagar, 6.92 lakh MT in Kaithal, over 1.53 lakh MT in Panchkula, over 1.41 lakh MT in Sirsa, 1.28 lakh MT in Jind, 1.21 lakh MT in Palwal, 1.07 lakh MT in Sonepat, 54,716 MT in Panipat, 71,418 MT in Hisar, 11,483 MT in Faridabad, 8,009 MT in Rohtak and 6,837 MT in Mewat.

He said that more than 2.67 lakh metric tonnes of bajra has arrived in the mandis of Haryana so far, whereas 1.70 lakh metric tonnes of bajra had arrived in the last year so far. Out of the total arrival of bajra, more than 2.65 lakh metric tonnes have been procured by government procuring agencies.
