Two persons arrested for consuming liquor at public places

Two cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC has been registered in PS-36 and PS-39, Chandigarh against two persons who were arrested while consuming liquor at public places on 05.12.2019. Later they were released on bail.

Action against obstructing public way

A case FIR No. 258, U/S 283 IPC has been registered in PS-IT park, Chandigarh against Mohammad Shamshad R/o Shastri nagar, Manimajra, Chandigarh, who was arrested while he was obstructing public way with rehri/fari near fish market, Shastri nagar, MM, Chandigarh. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 259, U/S 283 IPC has been registered in PS-IT park, Chandigarh against Om Parkash R/o Shastri nagar, Manimajra, Chandigarh, who was arrested while he was obstructing public way with rehri/fari near fish market, Shastri nagar, MM, Chandigarh. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Assault

A case FIR No. 274, U/S 323, 325 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh on the statement of Mukesh R/o # 54, Phase-1, BDC, Sector -26, Chandigarh against unknown person who beaten complainant near House No. 63, Phase-1, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh on 05.12.2019. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Amar Podar r/o # 4926, Maloya colony, Chandigarh reported that unknown person who stolen away battery of complainant’s Auto No. CH01TB-1008 from slip road near 29/1 EWS Flats, Maloya Colony, Chandigarh on the night intervening 30-11/01-12-2019. A case FIR No. 197, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

Nitesh Kumar r/o # 70/1, EWS Colony, Maloya, Chandigarh reported that unknown driver of Activa No. CH01BS9137, who hit to complainant (Pedestrian) at slip road near # 29/1 EWS flats, Maloya Colony, Chandigarh on 05.12.2019. A case FIR No. 198, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Complainant got injured and admitted in PGI, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

ARREST

A petition filed by Prem Lata Vs Emerging Valley Pvt Ltd in the Hon’ble High Court to arrest the Proclaimed offender Gurpreet Singh Sidhu and others Directors of M/s Emerging Valley Pvt Ltd SCO No.46-47 Ist Floor Sector-9- D Chandigarh. As per Direction of W/SSP the teams has been constituted in the supervision DSP/Central Sh.Krishan Kumar and headed by Insp. Sukhdweep Singh I/c PO & Summon staff . The teams were conducted raids in the tri city and other state. On the Secret information the teams of P.O & Summon Cell of Chandigarh Police has done remarkable work by nabbing Proclaimed Offenders namely 1) Mr. Harvinder Singh Behl S/o Late Sh Tirlok Singh Director Emerging Valley Pvt Ltd. SCO No.46-47 Ist Floor Sector-9- D Chandigarh Now# A-2 Block A Omex Royal Rsidence Pakhowal Road Ludhiana -Age-55 years declared proclaimed offender by the Hon’ble Retd. Justice Sh. Raj Sekhar Attri , President of State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in execution No.318/2018 on dated 13.11.2019 and also declared Proclaimed Offender by the President District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum-1 UT., Chandigarh in execution No.131/2018 on dated 12.07.2019 and NBW in E.No.69/2019,70/2019 by the President District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum-2 UT., Chandigarh.

The accuseds/Proclaimed Offenders has been arrested by the team of P.O. & Summon Staff from his new residence. They will be produced in the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission & District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum-1 and 2 UT., Chandigarh.

Question Paper Leak Scandal of Haryana

In continuation of question paper leak scandal of Haryana SSC ITI instructor exam, the accused Nitish S/o Mohan Ram R/o Village Alakhpura, Tehsil Ditwara Distt Nagaur, Rajisthan Age 24 years (Manager at Mapple Tech computer Lab situated at Plot No 153, Indl. Area Phase II, Chd) has been arrested on 5.12.19 and during his custodial interrogation, he disclosed that Mapple Tech Computer Lab is owned by Rakesh, Majit, Sunil Ratu and Ajay, who appointed him as care taker in the said computer lab, where online exams are conducted. On 4.12.19, he received mobile call from Rakesh, who told him that he was sending list of candidates, who belongs to Chandigarh exam Centre and further instructed to call these candidates at Mapple Tech Computer Lab. On this, he called the candidates namely Parveen, Rohit, Amit, Deeepika, Kapil, Anudeep, Ajay, Amit, Sandeep, Kapil Dev, Parvesh etc at computer lab. In the night, Rakesh Kumar again called on his mobile and disclosed that morning exam question paper could not be arranged and the question paper for evening shift has been arranged / procured and he is coming with the said question paper and further instructed to get stayed all these candidates in the computer lab. Later, he received a call from Manjit, who stated that the question paper for evening shift has been arranged / procured. In the meantime police has raid at the computer lab. Thereafter, Amit @ Mita called him and taking information about the candidates. Later, he revealed that the above said persons were taking the amount of Rs 10-15 from these candidates for arranging the question paper.

Today, the accused produced before the Hon’ble court for seeking two days police remand to arrest other co-accused persons namely Rakesh, Manjit, Amit etc.

During the course of interrogation, the statements of the 13 candidates have been recorded. They disclosed in their statements that on 4.12.19, they received phone call from Nitish, who instructed them to reach at Mapple Tech Computer Lab, Plot No 153, Indl. Area, Chd. On this, they reached at the said place at night, where Nitish took their mobile phones and stated that he would arranged the said question paper, but after waiting long time, they asked him about the paper, thereon he stated that due to some reason paper has been delayed and instructed them to stay there night. Later, he disclosed that the said question paper could not be arranged for morning shift and he will provide paper for evening shift. In the meantime, police has raid at the place.

In this context, stated that today, the above said candidates will be produced before the hon’ble court for recording their statements u/s 164 Cr.P.C.

Meanwhile, a special investigation team consisting of SDPO/South, SHO PS-31, SI Parvinder Singh , SI Eram Rizwi, SI Charanjit Singh, ASI Parminder Singh, Ct. Sandeep and Ct. Devinder has been constituted for in-depth investigation of case and to arrest the main accused as well master mind of the scam.

Vendors of Chandigarh at designated sites

As per the directions of Hon’ble Punjab & Haryana High Court to shift vendors of Chandigarh at designated sites, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh had issued a public notice for the registered street vendors to shift themselves to the designated allotted sites by 05-12-2019. Further in this regard MCC started the process to relocate the Vendors to the designated allotted sites w.e.f. 06-12-2019. Keeping in view the intelligence input, it had come to notice that while shifting process the vendors may oppose and create law & order problem.

Thus adequate law & order arrangements have been made at various locations in the city. The main arrangements has been made at Plaza Sec.17, Market Sector-15, Sector-19, Sector-22, Sectors 1 to 6 Chandigarh for 06th to 8th December 2019. In this regard GOs-03, SHOs/Inspectors-13 and NGOs/ORs-600 has been deployed in two shifts. In addition water cannon, vajra, mounted police, tear gas, also deployed. Special team of traffic staff also deployed at both places for proper parking of vehicles. Overall situation remained peaceful. Deputy Commissioner UT, Chandigah Mr. Mandeep Singh Brar, IAS, Senior Superintendent of Police UT, Chandigarh Ms. Nilambari Jagadale along with officers from Municipal Corporation Chandigarh visited plaza Sector-17 and Sector-15 to oversee arrangement.
