CHANDIGARH,27.01.20-The 71^st Republic Day of India was celebrated at the premises of the BSNL Punjab Circle Office, Sector 34, Chandigarh on January 26, 2020 with much gaiety. The flag hoisting ceremony was done by Sh. J C Menaria , CGMT Punjab in the presence of employees & their family members. CGMT highlighted the role of BSNL in Digital India project. He explained the importance of revival package provided by the Central Govt and declaration of BSNL as strategic asset of India by the Hon’ble Minister for Communications & IT - Sh. Ravi Shankar Prasad. He encouraged all staff to take more responsibility after VRS completion to fulfil the smooth & secure communication needs of India.

The employees and their family members presented a small cultural program. On this prestigious day, the Circle award of “Vishisht Sanchar Seva Padak-2019” was presented to Sh. Harinder Singh, SDE (Ludhiana) & Sh. Lalit Jain, JTO (CMTS) under Executive category and to Sh. Brij Bhushan, TT (Chandigarh) & Sh. Bharat Ram Thakur, SHT (Circle Office) under Non-Executive category.

It was a moment of proud for the whole Punjab Circle that after a gap of over 10 years an Executive officer, Sh. Bandhan Preet Singh, JTO (Chandigarh), from the Punjab circle has won the National Award.
