Chandigarh February 26- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that no one could restrict Haryana from getting its share of water through Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) Canal as the Supreme Court (SC) has already given its decision in favour of Haryana that the State has its legitimate share in the Canal water.

Mr Manohar Lal who was interacting with the media persons after the proceedings of the fourth day of Budget Session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today was asked to comment on the statement given by Punjab Chief Minister Mr Amarinder Singh on SYL issue.

The Chief Minister said that the only issue which is pending before the Apex Court is regarding the construction of SYL canal for getting water to Haryana. He hoped that the SC would issue implementation orders soon to some Agency, probably of the Central Government so that construction of SYL canal could be started at the earliest.

In reply to another question, he said that an all-party delegation led by him (Mr Manohar Lal) had also met the then Union Home Minister Mr Rajnath Singh in New Delhi and requested him for early completion of SYL Canal. He said that collective efforts are being made by rising above the party lines in the interest of the State.

While referring to his interaction with President of the United States, Mr. Donald John Trump during the dinner hosted by the President of India, Mr. Ram Nath Kovind in the honor of Mr. Trump, at New Delhi yesterday, Mr Manohar Lal informed President Mr. Donald Trump that Haryana is to New Delhi as Virginia is to Washington D.C. Quoting similarities, he said that as Haryana surrounds Delhi on three sides, in similar way Virginia surrounds Washington on three sides.

The Chief Minister said that to strengthen the relations with other countries Government of Haryana has setup a new Department of Foreign Corporation.

Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal informed the delegation that Haryana State is setting up an international terminus of fruits and vegetables at Ganaur in Sonepat district near Delhi. He said that this market is best suited to reduce the load of the Azadpur market of Delhi and its construction is in the final stages. Local vegetable and fruit growing farmers are coming forward to sell their products through FPOs, he added. He said that due to the establishment of a cold chain, perishable fruits and vegetables will be able to run for a long time. He further said that Fruits and vegetables can be easily supplied from here to five-star hotels and services that operate in large numbers around Delhi. He said that there is also a plan to establish a fish market in this terminus.

The delegation conveyed that they are conducting international surveys of Mandis to establish the overall cold chain in different countries of the world. Fruits and vegetables should be run for a long time through technique and knowledge enhancement. It has become the need of the world today.

He informed that 50 acres of land in Gram Panchayat Badhsa, Jhajjar was purchased by Haryana Technical Education Department at a cost of Rs 15.19 crore.

He said that the IIT Delhi has assured that the Bio-science park will be made fully functional within three years after acceptance and possession of the land.

Haryana Police has issued advisory on law and order situation across the State

Chandigarh, Feb 26 – Haryana Police has issued advisory on law and order situation across the State especially for the districts adjoining Delhi in the wake of the recent violence that has taken place in national capital.

Giving this information here today, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Mr Navdeep Singh Virk said that several incidents of violence, stone pelting, arson etc have been taken in the national capital in last two days. As a part of precautionary measure, advisory have been issued to all Commissioners of Police and district Superintendents of Police in the State. The police force has been asked to be extra vigilant and take all out measures to prevent any occurrence of violence in their respective jurisdiction.

As per the advisory, Mr Virk said that senior police officers in the field have been asked to mobilize maximum force for preventive deployment for law and order duty. In view of the recent development in Delhi, Police officers have been directed to take necessary precautions and mobilize all possible resources to maintain law and order and peace across the state especially in Faridabad, Gurugram, Sonipat, Nuh districts. Police have increased patrolling across the state and also intensified the vigil in the borders adjoining national capital as a precautionary measure, he added.

It has also been directed to maintain close coordination with Deputy Commissioners, SDMs, Tehsildars and other departments for handling of law and order situation and appointment of Duty Magistrates and promulgation of prohibitory orders, if required.

Cautioning the people against sharing misleading information on social media platforms, he urged them not to fall in the trap of rumour mongers and extend their cooperation in maintaining peace in the society. He also warned the anti-social elements that any attempt to vitiate law and order and to create violence would be dealt strictly as per the law.

Haryana Police in separate cases has arrested three persons on the charges of drug-peddling in Sirsa district

Chandigarh, Feb 26 – Haryana Police in separate cases has arrested three persons on the charges of drug-peddling in Sirsa district and recovered 5580 prohibited pharma pills, 40 gram of heroin and 16 kg poppy husk from their possession.

Giving this information here today, a spokesperson of Haryana Police said that in the first incident, Police has arrested Kaur Singh, a resident of village Bahman Jassa, district Bathinda (Punjab) after it recovered 5580 prohibited pharma pills from him.

In another crackdown, a team of Anti-narcotic cell during patrolling has arrested Sandeep Kumar alias Kaku, a resident of village Badaguda. The accused was found in possession on 40 gram heroin.

Another crackdown on drug peddlers was made by Nathusari Chopta Police where they arrested accused Dalbir, a resident of Odhan Kalan. He was arrested during patrolling with 16 kg poppy husk from near village Jamal in the district.

Cases under the provisions of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act were registered against them. The accused will be taken on remand by producing them in the court for further investigation. Stern action will be taken after identifying the involvement of others in this racket of drug trafficking, he added.

Chandigarh, Feb 26 – In a major breakthrough, a team of Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Haryana Police has arrested a most wanted criminal Nitin, carrying a reward of Rs 75,000 from Maharaja Agrasain Chowk area in Sonipat district.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Haryana Police said that a country made pistol and a live cartridge was also recovered from his possession.

Arrested accused Nitin, a resident of Dhobiwada Jatwara in Sonipat was absconding after committed a number of crimes in Uttar Pradesh and Sonipat district. Police has announced Rs 75,000 bounty for any information leading to his arrest. He was wanted by both UP and Haryana Police.

Divulging the details, he said that a team of CIA has got secret information that a most wanted criminal carrying illegal weapon was roaming near Maharaja Agrasain Chowk with an intention to commit a criminal offence. Acting swiftly, police team immediately rushed the spot and nabbed the accused along with illegal arms.

Upon interrogated, accused disclosed his identity and confessed his involvement in several incidents of crime alongwith his aides.

A case was registered against him at Civil lines Police Station, Sonipat. He was produced before the Court, which sent him two day police remand. Further probe into this matter is on.

Chandigarh, February 26 – In Haryana, under the 'Mhara Gaon Jagmag Gaon' scheme 4463 villages are getting 24 hours power supply of 1048 RDS feeders of 11 KV in 9 districts namely Ambala, Panchkula, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Faridabad, Gurugram, Rewari, Sirsa, and Fatehabad. This includes 2637 villages of 528 feeders of Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and 1826 villages of 520 feeders of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam.

Haryana Power Minister, Mr. Ranjit Singh shared this information while replying to a question asked during the question hour of the ongoing budget session in Haryana Vidhan Sabha, here today.

He made the House aware that with the aim to provide sustainable power supply to rural areas at par with the urban areas of the State 'Mhara Gaon Jagmag Gaon' scheme was launched in July 2015.

Under this scheme, to improve the service quality, activities such as replacing naked wires with AB cable, replacing defective or electromechanical meters, shifting power meters outside the houses, maintenance of distribution transformers and maintaining the LD system are running by the State Government. Under this, one-time replacement or re-installation of the meter will be done on the spot and the meter will not be sent to M&T Lab for further testing.

The department had conducted a study there and it was found that the Defect Liability Period (DLP) of that road is till December 2020. After this, bypass land will be constructed by the department at these three places.

He said that many companies have set up their units in Pelpa, Subana, Saundhi and other places adjoining Kundali-Manesar-Palwal Expressway. He said that to ensure more industrial development of this area and for the strengthening of roads, cooperation from industries will also be sought, he added.

The stadium was constructed in the year 1987 and eight one-day international cricket matches and six women's one-day international cricket matches have been organized here.

He said that along with constructing big stadiums it is also very important that more efforts should be made for bringing the sports talent from grassroots into the mainstream.

He further shared that to build an international cricket stadium, an expenditure of about Rs 200 crore is required.

He informed that only Rs. 130 crore is left after taking out the coach and staff salaries and the prize money being given to the players and other heads from the Sports department’s budget, while the amount is certainly less to build an international cricket stadium.

The Sports Minister also made the House aware that the Mahabir Stadium, in Hisar district is a good stadium where 15 games are played and more than 20 players have made their mark at the International level, while 12 coaches are appointed in this stadium.

He also informed that at present there are 157 government colleges in the state out of which 8 colleges are in Jind district alone.

Education Minister informed that the classes of the proposed Government Girls College in village Pillukhera of Jind district for the current academic session 2019-20 are being held in an alternative building, while the construction work of this college building will soon be completed and the classes will be started in this building only.

He further explained that about 8-10 acres of land was required for the construction of this college building. For this, a piece of land measuring 8 acres belonging in village Jamani has been identified for the construction of the building by the local administration and the construction work will be started 6 months after taking possession of the proposed land.

Replying to another question, he said that 20 government colleges are running in Sonipat district, one of them is in Gannaur. The State Government aims to open at least one college within a radius of 20 km.

Answering another question, he said that the State Government has proposed to open a government college in Hodal Assembly Constituency. For this, a layout plan of the land is being prepared; construction work will be started soon. He also informed that classes for this college will start from the upcoming academic session 2020-21. Till the construction of the college building is completed, the classes of this college will be held in the Government Senior Secondary School Mandoli.
