Two arrested for consuming liquor at public place

Two different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC have been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran & 39 Chandigarh against two persons who were arrested while consuming liquor at public places on 26.02.2020. Later they were released on bail.

Action against obstructing public way

A case FIR No. 34, U/S 283 IPC has been registered in PS-IT park, Chandigarh against Bhajan Lal R/o Shastri Nagar, Manimajra, Chandigarh, who was arrested while he was obstructing public way with rehri/fari near Fish Market, Shastri Nagar, Manimajra on 26.02.2020. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 26, U/S 279, 337, 304-A IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh against Kunal R/o # 1078, Sector-12, Huda, Panipat, Haryana who was driving Land Cruiser car No. HR-06AM-0019 which struck with pole at dividing road, Sector-9/10, Chandigarh. Resultantly, occupant of car namely Shrishti Goyal age-27 years got injured and declared brought dead at GH-16, Chandigarh. Driver of car arrested and later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Culpable Homicide

A case FIR No. 35, U/S 304 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sonu Singh R/o # 604, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh against driver of Truck No. PB65AD-9030 namely Ravinder Kumar Patel R/o Hallo Majra, Chandigarh who hit to three pedestrian persons namely Jagat Pal, Sunil & Avdesh all R/o Hallo Majra, Chandigarh near railway bridge, Colony No. 4. Light point, Chandigarh on 26.02.2020. Pedestrian persons got injured and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh where Jagatpal & Sunil declared brought dead. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Fetus Found

A case FIR No. 16, U/S 318 IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh against unknown person who thrown away fetus at road near Tubewell, Sector-50, Chandigarh on 26.02.2020. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Shakti R/o # 5494, Maloya Colony, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s Black CD Deluxe M/Cycle No. CH03Z-0753 from Market, Sector-40D, Chandigarh on 26-02-2020. A case FIR No. 74, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case Fir No 34 dated 17.2.2019 U/S 380,457 IPC has been registered on the complaint of Sh Omparkash Gupta S/O Sh Bal Mukand R/O # 6, Sector-28, Chandigarh.

A case Fir No 34 dated 17.2.2019 U/S 380,457 IPC has been registered on the complaint of Sh Omparkash Gupta S/O Sh Bal Mukand R/O # 6, Sector-28, Chandigarh. He stated that some miscreant person has stolen away Rs 12, lacs, laptop and some other documents from SCO No 12, Sector-28, Chandigarh by breaking the lock of safe during the night intervening 16/17.2.2020.

During the investigation, 17 CCTV Camera footage were collected from the spot and CCTV Footage was shown to the complainant. After seeing the CCTV Footage, complainant has been identified the alleged person namely Rajnesh @ pandey S/O Mahesh Chand R/O village Naya goan, PS Sikandrabad, Distt Bulandsaher, UP who is working in his shop as electrician.

On this, a team has been constituted headed by SI Krishan Dev under the supervision of SHO/PS26, Chandigarh to conducted the raid at native village of suspect, where from suspect Rajneesh @ pandey S/O Mahesh Chand R/O village Naya goan, PS Sikandrabad, Distt Bulandsaher, UP age 21 years apprehended and arrested on 24.2.2020, During the further investigation, accused produced before the Hon’ble court on 25.2.2020 and obtained 4, day’s police remand to recover the stolen property. During the interrogation, he has confessed that he has kept the stolen property at some secrete place, on his instant stolen property i.e. cash Rs 4, 350,00/ laptop and other documents were recovered. Further efforts to ascertain whether there is connivance and involvement of other persons and to recover the remaining stolen money. The accused Rajneesh is still under Police custody up to 28.2.2020, the investigation of the case is still underway.

Traffic Advisory for Rose Festival-2020

In view of the forthcoming Rose Festival-2020 to be held from 28.2.2020 to 1.3.2020, the following traffic restrictions/diversions shall be in place:-

The general public is requested to park its vehicles in the designated parking lots i.e. infront of MC Office towards Shivalik View Hotel, near Local Bus Stand Sector 17, Circus Ground Sector 17, infront of Hotel Taj parking, parking area infront of TDI Mall, Sector 17, near Post office parking Sector 17, Parking adjacent Neelam Cinema, Multi Level Parking, Sector 17, Shanti Kunj Parking, Sector 16, open ground adjoining Shivalik View Hotel, Sector 17, parking area backside MC Office, RLA Office, Sector 17, Parking area infront of SCOs of Sector 9 on Madhya Marg, Parking area adjoining Petrol Pump Sector 10 and parking area adjoining boundary wall of GMSH-16 opp. Rose Garden.

In view of anticipated heavy rush of pedestrians, entire road stretch from Sector 16/17 Light Point upto Matka Chowk (Jan Marg) may be closed for vehicular movement from 12.00 Noon to 8.00 PM on 29.2.2020 (Saturday) and 1.3.2020 (Sunday). The road users are therefore, advised to make use of alternate routes during the timings given above. Vehicles coming from Cricket Stadium chowk and intending to go towards Matka Chowk may turn right from Sector 16/17 Light Point then turn left from Lyons Light Point, straight to Hotel Taj Light Point, then turn left onto Madhya Marg towards Matka Chowk. Similarly, the vehicles coming from Matka Chowk and intending to go towards Cricket Stadium Chowk shall take left turn towards Taj Hotel Light Point, turn right towards Lyons Light Point, again turn right towards 16/17 Light Point and finally turn left towards Cricket Stadium Chowk.

Similarly, entire road stretch from GMSH Sector 16 (Sector 15-16/10/11 Chowk) upto Matka Chowk (Sector 16/17-9/10 Chowk) may be closed for vehicular movement from 12.00 noon to 8.00 PM on 29.2.2020 (Saturday) and 1.3.2020 (Sunday). The road users are therefore, advised to make use of alternate routes during the timings given above.

If required, these roads will be declared as vehicle free zone in order to facilitate safe movement of pedestrians around Rose Garden, Sector 16, Chandigarh.

Pick and drop points for taxi cabs shall be backside Shivalik View Hotel Sector 17, Shanti Kunj Parking Sector 16, parking area infront of SCOs Sector 9 Madhya Marg (Opp. ICICI Bank) and Petrol Pump Sector 10.

Please ensure vehicles are efficiently parked in the designated parking lots not consuming more space than necessary.

People are advised not to park their vehicles in ‘No Parking’ Zones/Roads; otherwise, such vehicles shall be towed away/clamped.

People are advised not to park/ply their vehicles on cycle track/pedestrian pathways.
