Chandigarh, April 3 – Haryana, Governor Mr. Satyadeo Narain Arya has appealed to the people to celebrate all the festivals in the near future by staying at home.
President Mr. Ram Nath Kovind has reiterated this during a video conferencing from New Delhi with all the Governors today. Mr. Kovind today reviewed the arrangements made by the state governments to prevent the spread of corona virus in the second video conferencing in this regard. Mr. Arya said that social distancing is the only way to protect oneself and others from the virus. Many festivals like Mahavir Jayanti, Good Friday, Baisakhi, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedar Jayanti and Parshuram Jayanti are approaching in the near future. No person should collectively celebrate a festival. Along with this, it is also necessary that people do not organize meetings and conferences and do not take any procession but celebrate the festival at their homes. The state government is also continuing an effective awareness campaign through social media, print media, radio and television to make the general public aware of social distancing. He said that no person should pay heed to the rumors related to the virus but follow the instructions given by the government from time to time.
The Governor appreciated the work of the administrative officers, doctors, paramedical staff, police personnel, sanitation workers, electricity department employees, public health departments, and bank employees during the lockdown.
