Six persons arrested under section 188 IPC for not wearing face mask.

Six different cases U/S 188 IPC have been registered against six persons who were arrested while roaming outside without wearing a face mask and disobeying the orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh. Later they were released on bail. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 188 IPC got registered on 22.05.2020 is :- PS-17=01, PS-Ind. Area=01, PS-IT park =01 case, PS-36 = 02, PS-39=01.

Two persons arrested for possessing illegal liquor

Operation Cell of Chandigarh Police arrested Ajay R/o # 2877/1, Sec-47-C, Chandigarh (aged about- 30 years) and recovered 73 boxes of different brand of liquor (containing 12 bottles each), 29 boxes of country made liquor (containing 12 bottles each), 05 boxes of country made liquor (containing 24 halves each), 06 boxes of country made liquor (containing 48 quarters each) = total 113 boxes loaded in Bolero pick-up vehicle near Naka dividing road Sector-26/7, near PS-East turn, Sector 26, Chandigarh on 22.05.2020. A case FIR No. 104, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Operation Cell of Chandigarh Police arrested Jarnail Singh @ Jaila R/o Village Kailon, Kharar, Distt. Mohali, PB (aged about- 45 years) and recovered 235 boxes of Ginsberg beer (containing 12 bottles each) loaded in Canter No. CH01BT2859 without any permission near Attawa Chowk, Sector 42, Chandigarh on 22.05.2020. A case FIR No. 113, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested under NDPS Act

Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Vikrant R/o # 2512/2, Ph-2, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh (26 years) near Park, Ph-2, Ram Darbar, in front of Punia Gas Agency, Chandigarh and recovered 13.75 gm heroin from his possession on 22.05.2020. A case FIR No. 109, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

A lady resident of Sector-23/C, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away laptop bag, one gold earring, one silver anklet and some documents from complainant’s residence on the night intervening 21/22-05.2020. A case FIR No. 108, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

Deterred public servant from govt. duty

A case FIR No. 105, U/S 188, 269, 270, 332, 353 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh on the complaint of Const. Sansar 1724/CP who reported that Sanjay Mishra R/o # 348, Phase-2, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh on Motor Cycle No. CH01AY7337 disobeyed the lock down orders issued by DM, Chandigarh and also manhandled complainant and deterred him from Govt. duty while complainant stop him to enter BDC, Chandigarh near point Labour Sarai, TPT, BDC, Sector 26, Chandigarh on 22.05.2020. Alleged person has been arrested in this case. Investigation of case is in progress.

MV Theft

Ravi Kumar R/o # 46, Phase-1, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s Hero Honda Splendor M/Cycle No. CH01-AE-1967 from parking near SBI Bank, Sector-31C, Chandigarh on 21.05.2020. A case FIR No. 108, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

Quarrel/ disobeyed orders of DM, Chandigarh

A case FIR No. 107, U/S 188, 323 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh on the complaint of lady resident of Hallo Majra, Chandigarh who alleged that his son Govind @ Khandu R/o # 313 Hallo Majra age 28 years and his two friends namely Amir Singh @ Jolly R/o # 1262 Hallo Majra age 19 years and Sandeep @ Vicky R/o # 240 Hallo Majra, Chandigarh age 23 years, all have quarreled with each other in drunken condition at public place near Khera Chowk Hallo Majra, Chandigarh and disobeyed curfew timings on night intervening 21/22.05.2020. Investigation of case is in progress.
