New Delhi: 23rd May 2020-On Friday, WCD Minister, Rajendra Pal Gautam received a complaint from Vishwajeet Ghoshal, the Director of Prayas JAC Society which stated that the children residing in one of their shelter homes located in Nabikarim area live on the first floor of the building where an instance of a COVID positive case has been reported. The complaint also stated inadequate water supply and hardships children are facing since the area has been declared as a containment zone.
Within 15 minutes of the receipt of the representation, the Hon'ble Minister directed Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR), Government of NCT of Delhi to promptly act on the complaint.
In the light of this health emergency among children, the Cabinet Minister directed DCPCR to immediately made arrangements to shift the children to another shelter home in Peeragarhi.
Vishwajeet Ghoshal, the Director of Prayas JAC Society who personally thanked Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam for the timely response and action in the matter.
He wrote, "We place our sincere thanks on records for your timely support in making it possible, the shifting of children from Nabikarim to Peeragarhi shelter home."

The instance of how Sh Rajendra Pal Gautam coordinated with 4 different stakeholders and ensured the full safety of the children within less than 10 working hours is an example of how Government of Delhi is committed to ensuring the safety and good health of its children and is working promptly to address every challenge which arises amidst the pandemic to safeguard its citizens.
