CHANDIGARH,20.09.20-Sumit Malhotra, who started his artistic career more than a decade ago in the year 2008 and now is being emerging as an ace photographer with his achievements in the field of photography art. He has slowly inherited in his passion and made it his professional career. He started participating in different photography competition a few years after learning the various concepts of photography while working in field. For him, camera is an artistic eye and photography means to showcase such things which usually been missed by human eye. As he captures beyond others imagination, he is able to grab unique things. He is keen to participate in every art competition which comes across him. He has achieved many milestones in his professional photography career started from the year 2014 when he grabbed second position in 'Rose Festival Photography competition' under Professional Category. With this achievement he followed the competition each year and won consolation prizes thereafter for two consecutive years. From winning local art competitions with good recognitions, he started showcasing his work on International platforms. With this, he recently participated in two 'International Art Competitions' and secured top ranks in both. Even during the Covid-19 era, he expanded his imagination and contributed in online art initiative and get recognition.

In an short conversation with the representative of "indianewscalling.com" Sumit disclosd that he got inspired to excel in this particular field by studying the art and feedback from his friends and family. In the beginning of his career when his work was showcased, he received good response. With such boost, he never looked back and tried his endeavor to reach heights. With his hard work and positive attitude, he pushed himself into this field and started exploring new things daily while travelling in and around city.

The Abstract Show

Talking about both the International competitions, ‘The Abstract Show’ organised by an International art group ‘All Visual Arts’ gave him recognition of his art work in Gold category. The winning image talks about an abstract art from rainfall. The photograph gives a painting look which speaks about the life on streets during heavy downpour.

6^th International Action Photography Contest 2020

The other one was “6^th International Action Photography Contest 2020” organised by Art Photography India Group with theme ‘Action’ in which he proved his expertise and competed other photographers across globe and stood First position. Importantly, the art competition was judged by a War Photographer and Filmmaker from Iran, Mahdieh Mirhabibi and Ratan Sonal, founder of Art Photography India Group. The image which secured first position indicates how a protest was handled by police to control mob. The water cannon used by cops stop a protestor to step further which shows real Action. Handling such situation is crtitical, however his expertise captured the perfect shot.

Talking about his work, Sumit Malhotra said, “I always learn from my past work and try to do my best to polish it further. As far as competitions are concerned, I always take first step in order to compete and judge my work at respective level. This way I can improve my work by learning from others’ art work. After winning such International competitions, I believe my morale has gone up and I will look forward to participate more in such competitions to widen my thinking in the field of art".

Furthermore, he said, in his career, he has yet tried various aspects of photography, be it like capturing social activities, sports, nature and wildlife, weather, architecture, political, interiors, food, education and the like. At every stage he learned new techniques while trying to showcasing the image in a different way. As he believes, camera is his best friend; he reminds various instances where the gadget played crucial role in capturing perfect images and hence he received numerous recognitions by participating in various competitions.
