CHANDIGARH,22.03.24-‘As we navigate the ever-changing landscape of healthcare, it is imperative for NHM officials to equip themselves with robust management skills’said Dr. Adarshpal Kaur, Director Health Services (DHS) of Punjab,Chief Guest, of the occasion during valedictory ceremony of 4-day Management Development Program for vector borne diseases officials of National Health Mission (NHM) Odisha. “By investing in capacity building initiatives like this program, we empower our workers to drive impactful change and uphold the highest standards of public health delivery,”she further said. Dr. Adarshpal Kaur commended the initiative undertaken by the organizers and highlighted the pivotal role of NHM officials in advancing public health agendas.The program hosted by Department of Community Medicine & School of Public Health, PGIMER Chandigarh aimed at enhancing the management and leadership skills of NHM officialstowards effectively controlling vector borne diseases across the state.

“Running management and leadership programs for NHM is crucial. They help train better leaders who can steer the public health program toward success" said Dr. Gagandeep Singh Grover, Assistant Director, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Punjab, during the valedictory ceremony. The 4-day program witnessed engaging sessions, interactive workshops, and experience sharing by experts in the field of vector borne diseases. Participants had the opportunity to delve into various topics including strategic planning, management skills, leadership development, vulnerability mapping through GIS and effective communication strategies tailored to the context of vector borne diseases operations in Odisha.
