CHANDIGARH,23.03.25-The 3rd Mid Term Indian Academy of Otorhinolaryngology and Head Neck Surgery Conference, being organised by the Department of Otolaryngology and Head Neck Surgery at PGIMER, Chandigarh from 21st -23rd March, 2025 was flagged of by a welcome address from the Organising Chairperson, Prof Jaimanti Bakshi. Dr P Vijaya Krishnana, Secretary IAOHNS said, “This conference is a unique venture in the Field of Head Neck Surgery and Sleep Apnea, and will hopefully prove to be enlightening for all the attendees. ”. Symposia and Panel Discussions were held on relevant topics like Advances in Oral Cancer, Robotics in Head Neck Surgery, Thyroid Cancer, Salivary Gland Malignancies followed by Invited Talks from the Guest Faculty. This was followed by a video session. Meanwhile, the sleep apnea sessions commenced in the post lunch segment and included simulating lectures on the Basics of Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Evaluation of Sleep Apnea and variable modes of management including PAP therapy, Oral Appliances and novel surgical techniques.
The esteemed gathering was addressed by the chief guest, Prof Vivek Lal, Director, PGIMER. He said that the Department of Otolaryngology-and head neck surgery is doing great work and spreading it’s wings and reaching news heights in starting different programs and that he expects the sleep services to expand even further in the coming years. The guest of honour, Padma Sri Prof Mohan Kameswaran remembered his visits to the PGIMER very fondly and complimented the department for doing great service for the mankind. This was followed by felicitation of the invited International and National Faculty. The Vote of thanks was delivered by Prof Sandeep Bansal, Organising Secretary, IAOHNS and the min begins the sleep service in the Department to mark the conclusion of the inauguration ceremony.
