CHANDIGARH, 30.04.25-The Library Committee of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, hosted the 7th edition of Suniye Sunaiye- a storytelling initiative, aimed at rekindling the art of reading, listening, and reflection. The teaching and non-teaching faculty of the college brought in a diverse range of readings, thus offering a deeply enriching discourse that left the audience inspired and contemplative. With readings including works like Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse, Letter to My Daughter by Maya Angelou, Rashmi Rathi by Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, Living Untethered by Michael Singer, The Sea Lies Ahead by Intezaar Hussain, Blasphemy by Tehmina Durrani, poem ‘Tum bilkul hum jaise nikle’ by Fahmida Riaz, and Netflix series Adolescence, the session was a beautiful confluence of literature, and self-expression, with each reading and discussion adding new layers of understanding to the audience’s collective experience. As the fourth edition of Suniye Sunaiye came to a close, it was evident that the event had once again achieved what it set out to do- to revive the joy of reading, storytelling, and deep listening.

Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma reiterated the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between the printed and e-resources as both of them are enriching in their own right. Adding that like food is to the body, reading is to mind, she highlighted the need to have more book exhibitions, and library-centric teaching. She read out excerpts from the book ‘Leadership Wisdom’ by Robin Sharma that impresses upon the need to adapt to new situations.
