MAHENDERGARH, 03.09.25-The second day of the ongoing Two-Week Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Indian Knowledge System: Transforming the Landscape of Higher Education” was successfully conducted in online mode. The program is jointly organized by Central University of Haryana, Mahendergarh and the K.R. Mangalam University, Gurugram.

During the inaugural session, the programme was graced by the presence of Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Haryana, who extended his good wishes for the success of the Faculty Development Program, encouraging participants to actively engage and benefit from the forthcoming sessions.

The distinguished speaker for the day was Professor Nand Kishor from the Central University of Haryana, who delivered an insightful lecture on the topic “Overview of Indian Knowledge System.” In his detailed and thought-provoking address, Professor Nand Kishor highlighted the depth and diversity of the Indian Knowledge System (IKS), which encompasses philosophy, science, literature, art, culture, and sustainable living practices. He emphasized how the rich intellectual traditions of India have been nurtured for thousands of years and continue to provide relevance in the present era of higher education. Professor Nand Kishor also shed light on the need to integrate IKS with modern curricula, thereby promoting holistic learning and fostering a sense of pride and identity among students and educators alike.His lecture inspired participants to re-examine pedagogical approaches and to incorporate more indigenous knowledge frameworks into contemporary academic practices.

The session was interactive, with faculty members actively engaging through questions and discussions. The FDP convenors and coordinators Dr. Pradeep Singh, Head and Dean of Department of Law, Central University of Haryana and Dr. Shobhna Jeet, SOLS, K.R. Mangalam University, expressed their gratitude to Professor Nand Kishor for his scholarly contribution. They also extended thanks to the leadership of both collaborating institutions — Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Haryana, and Prof. Raghubir Singh, Vice Chancellor, K.R. Mangalam University — for their continued guidance and support in organizing such academic initiatives.

The day concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the valuable insights shared by the resource person, and appreciating the joint efforts of both institutions in creating this platform for academic enrichment. The Faculty Development Program will continue till 12th September 2025, featuring eminent academicians and experts from across the country, who will deliberate on various facets of the Indian Knowledge System and its role in reshaping the landscape of higher education in India.
