MAHENDERGARH, 18.09.25-The Department of Law, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh, in collaboration with the Mahendergarh District Police Administration, organized a special interactive session on the new criminal laws on Wednesday. Held under the leadership and guidance of Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, this program marks a significant step in the ongoing institutional collaboration between the University and the District Police Administration.

Dr. Pardeep Singh, Head and Dean of the School of Law, emphasized that this initiative is a novel venture for stakeholders from different streams to brainstorm on the new legislation. He noted that such exchanges are mutually beneficial, allowing students and faculty to learn from the practical experience of the police, and vice versa. For the past year, this active collaboration has included student visits to police stations and workshops for police personnel featuring experts from the bar, administration, and academia, with more events planned for the future.

Dr. Singh highlighted how the three new criminal laws represent a transformative effort to decolonize and 'Indianise' the legal system, shifting from a penal-oriented framework to a justice-oriented one. The event featured insightful discourses and hands-on experiences shared by Inspector Sh. Jagdish Chand, Sub-Inspector Sh. Rakesh Kumar, and Sub-Inspector from Sadar Mahendergarh Sh. Ujjwal Kumar. A vibrant question-and-answer session was diligently addressed by all officers. Dr. DPS Punia also elaborated on new provisions designed to benefit the public.

The occasion was graced by the presence of Ms. Rajkala, Ms. Anita, Dr. Anju, Dr. Samiksha, Sh. Rajesh Meena, and other faculty members. A formal vote of thanks was extended by Sh. Rakesh Meena to both the university and district police administration for their invaluable collaboration.
