GRIID Organizes Sensitization Program for Students of general school under Sewa Pakhwada

Chandigarh, September 30, 2025 – Government Institute for Intellectual Disabilities (GRIID) successfully conducted a sensitization program for students of general schools on the occasion of Sewa Pakhwada, under the aegis of the Social Welfare Department.

The program saw active participation of about 50 students from different schools of i.e. Infant Jesus Convent School, Baptist Sr. Secondary School Chandigarh, St. Stephen's School, and St. John's High School.

The event aimed to raise awareness about intellectual disabilities. The students enthusiastically participated in the interactive session, asking pertinent questions about the causes of Intellectual disabilities, rehabilitation, and follow-up programs conducted by GRIID and showing a keen interest in understanding the challenges faced by individuals with intellectual disabilities.

The program also included creative activities such as card making and Diya painting, where the visiting students collaborated with GRIID students. This initiative not only fostered creativity but also promoted inclusivity and camaraderie among the participants.

The participating schools appreciated GRIID's initiative and expressed their willingness to collaborate on future projects. The event concluded on a positive note, with students and faculty members alike gaining a deeper understanding of intellectual disabilities and the importance of inclusivity.
