Chandigarh, 20.11.2025: A high-level review meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Sh. H. Rajesh Prasad, Chief Secretary, UT Chandigarh, to assess the progress of various ongoing issues of the Chandigarh Administration.

The Chief Secretary directed the Engineering Department to ensure that all pending road repair works across the city are completed by 15.12.2025, emphasizing the need for timely execution and improved public convenience.

The Estate Office was instructed to conduct auctions of vacant residential and commercial properties as per a calibrated schedule. Similarly, the Chandigarh Housing Board was directed to initiate the e-auction process for its properties in a phased and transparent manner.

The Municipal Corporation was advised to augment its revenue by streamlining parking management, ensuring recovery of outstanding property tax, and enhancing the collection of advertisement charges.

The Chief Secretary reiterated that strict compliance with court directions must be ensured by all departments, cautioning that any lapse in this regard will be viewed seriously.

Keeping in view the onset of the winter season, the MC and the Social Welfare Department has been directed to ensure that adequate night shelters are operational for the needy, with proper arrangements for safety and comfort.

Further, the Chief Secretary instructed that the recruitment rules of various departments be expedited and that posts across the Chandigarh Administration be rationalised for improved governance and efficiency.
