Sri Anandpur Sahib, November 23:Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and National Convener of AAP Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday took the blessings of the almighty for starting of Sri Akhand Path sahib at Gurdwara Baba Budha Dal Chouni, with puran Sikh maryada as part of commemorative events to mark 350th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji.
The Chief Minister and National Convener of AAP said that they have taken the blessings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji for smooth organization and culmination of the events being organized by the state government to observe the martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji. They said that Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji was a lighthouse of peace and tranquility for the entire mankind adding that they were duty bound to follow these high ideals propagated by our great Sikh gurus. Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji was a repository of universal brotherhood, secularism and socialism to guide the destiny of mankind.
The Chief Minister and National Convener of AAP said that the state government is following Sri Guru Granth sahib ji true in letter and spirit for the enlightenment and uplift of the residents of the state. They said that taking inspiration from Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji the state government is organizing these mega events to observe 350th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji. Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Singh Mann exhorted the people to follow the high ideals of secularism, humanism and spirit of self sacrifice as preached and practiced by ‘Hind Di Chaadar’ - Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
The Chief Minister and National Convener of AAP said that they were fortunate to have got the opportunity to organize these events as Guru Ji had laid down his life to protect the right of freedom to worship and preserve human and secular values. He said that Guru ji’s supreme sacrifice is unique and unparalleled in the history of mankind and symbolized the crusade against tyranny and oppression. Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the bani of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji in Sri Guru Granth Sahib preaches oneness of mankind, universal brotherhood, valour, righteousness and compassion.
The Chief Minister and National Convener of AAP said that the real homage to the great Guru is to follow their teachings in true spirit and re-dedicate ourselves to serve society especially the poor and downtrodden with dedication and missionary zeal rising above the petty considerations of caste, colour, creed and religion. They appealed to the people to observe this sacred occasion by displaying the spirit of harmony and social cohesion to strengthen the unity and integrity of our Country. Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Singh Mann called upon the people to participate in the functions being organized by the state government in Sri Anandpur Sahib from November 23-25.

Sri Anandpur Sahib/Chandigarh, Nov 23-To mark the 350th Martyrdom Day of Hind DI Chadar Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji the grand Nagar Kirtan that commenced on Nov 20 from Gurdwara Tap Asthan Sant Baba Hari Singh Ji in Gurdaspur concluded today at Sri Anandpur Sahib. Upon its arrival, the Nagar Kirtan was warmly welcomed by Cabinet Ministers Harjot Singh Bains and Harbhajan Singh ETO with a shower of flowers. The magnificently decorated procession featured the beautifully adorned Palki Sahib carrying the eternal Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji under a canopy, led by the revered Panj Pyare and the Nishan Sahib. Rupnagar District Administration gave a grand reception to procession and the local Sangat upon reaching the birthplace of the Khalsa, Sri Anandpur Sahib.
On this occasion, Cabinet Ministers Harjot Singh Bains and Harbhajan Singh ETO honored the Panj Pyare Sahibaan and Panj Nishanchis of the Nagar Kirtan with ceremonial robes (Siropa). After paying obeisance at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, the Ministers respectfully escorted Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to Gurdwara Sri Sis Ganj Sahib for ceremonial placement.
Sant Baba Kashmir Singh Bhuriwale and several other religious organizations and associations from across Punjab extended their full support to the Nagar Kirtan that journeyed from Gurdaspur to Sri Anandpur Sahib.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Punjab Government organized this grand religious procession with the cooperation of the sangat. The Nagar Kirtan, which began in Gurdaspur on Nov 20, passed through Baba Bakala, Sri Amritsar Sahib, Tarn Taran, Sri Khadoor Sahib, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Phagwara, Banga, Nawanshahr, Tibi Sahib Ropar and Nurpur Bedi before culminating at Sri Anandpur Sahib.
During the event, the youth of Misal Sri Harkrishan Sahib Gatka Akhara, Amritsar, under the supervision of Ustad Sukhminder Singh, displayed remarkable skills in Gatka martial art.
It is also worth mentioning that the Nagar Kirtan was scheduled to reach Sri Anandpur Sahib at 6 PM on November 22, 2025. However, due to the enthusiastic welcome accorded by Sangat at various villages and towns along the route, the procession reached its destination 12 hours later than planned.

Sri Anandpur Sahib, 23 Nov-The grand Nagar Kirtan dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the Ninth Sikh Guru Hindi Di Chadar Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji that began from Srinagar on Nov 19 with Khalsa fervor and enthusiasm from Gurdwara Patshahi Chhevin, concluded today upon reaching Sri Anandpur Sahib.
At Sri Anandpur Sahib, Cabinet Ministers Harjot Singh Bains and Harbhajan Singh E.T.O. accorded a floral welcome to the Nagar Kirtan.
The beautifully decorated Palki Sahib (palanguin) carrying the eternal Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji under the canopy of divine grace, led by the Panj Pyare and Nishan Sahib, was warmly received by the Rupnagar district administration and devotees upon its arrival at the birthplace of the Khalsa - Sri Anandpur Sahib.
On this occasion, the Ministers presented siropas to the Panj Pyare Sahibaan and the Panj Nishaanchi Sahibaan participating in the Nagar Kirtan.
After paying obeisance at Takhth Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Ministers Harjot Singh Bains and Harbhajan Singh E.T.O. respectfully installed the sacred form of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Maharaj at Gurdwara Sri Sis Ganj Sahib.
Sant Baba Sewa Singh of Rampur Khera, along with Bhupinder Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Davinder Singh, Bahadur Singh and other organizations and sects, extended full cooperation in this religious procession from Srinagar to Sri Anandpur Sahib.
The youth of Bhai Bachittar Singh Gatka Akhara of Hathur showcased their martial art skills throughout the 544-kilometer route under the guidance of Ustad Harpreet Singh. Upon arrival at Takhth Sri Kesgarh Sahib, they also exhibited magnificent martial art - Gatka. Also Sahibzada Baba Fateh Singh Ji Taruna Dal leader Baba Singh Sahib and Baba Gurdev Singh rendered remarkable service during the event.
Devotees warmly welcomed the Nagar Kirtan at every village and town enroute. The procession began on November 22, 2025, from Gurdwara Sri Rampur Khera, taking nearly 15 hours to cover a distance of 25 kilometers to Hoshiarpur. Langars (community meals) were organized at various points by devotees to serve participants.
Significantly, organized with the support of the Sikh community, this grand Nagar Kirtan was initiated by the Government of Punjab on November 19 from Srinagar. The procession passed through Jammu, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Garhshankar and Jajj Chowk, before concluding reverently at Sri Anandpur Sahib.

Tour draws massive attraction of Sangat to know about Major aspects of Punjab and Sikh History
Sri Anandpur Sahib/Chandigarh, November 23:The Punjab Government has organized a Heritage Tour for devotees to get them apprised about Virasat-E-Khalsa, Historic Gurdwaras and Panj Pyara Park which attracted massive enthusiasm of Sangat.
The tour began from Virasat-E-Khalsa elaborated in detail about the religious and historic significance of Punjab and Sikh history. The Tourism department deputed experts to facilitate the Sangat with information about Sikh history in trio languages including Punjabi, Hindi and English.
Punjab Tourism Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond and MLA Budh Ram accompanied the Sangat during the entire tour which passed through 27 galleries briefing about the Sikh history from the birth, life and teachings of ten Sikh Gurus right from the first Sikh Master Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, Sikh Misls, the regime of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, Independence struggle, 1947th partition and Punjabi Suba Morcha. The tour also followed the visit of Panj Pyara Park, historic Gurdwaras of Sri Anandpur Sahib where the experts gave detailed information to the devotees about these places.
Tourism Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond and MLA Budh Ram lauded the tour for Sangat especially the youngsters to get acquaint with the rich and glorious history of Punjab and Sikh religion. The devotees joining the tour also thanked for this informative initiative.

HEALTH MINISTER INSPECTS 'NIGAH LANGAR' EYE CAMP, REVIEWS MEDICAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR 350TH MARTYRDOM ANNIVERSARY

CHANDIGARH/SRI ANANDPUR SAHIB, November 23:Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Balbir Singh on Sunday conducted a comprehensive inspection of the health facilities, including a special ‘Nigah Langar’ eye checking camp and a medical camp, established at an Aam Aadmi Clinic here to cater to the lakhs of devotees attending the events to commemorate the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
During his visit, the Health Minister shared significant outcomes from the 'Nigah Langar' camp, informing that as many as 5000 devotees have already had their vision tested. Of these, 2000 individuals have been provided with free spectacles, and 39 have successfully undergone cataract surgeries.
Detailing the extensive healthcare infrastructure put in place, Dr Balbir Singh stated that 24-hour Emergency Services are fully operational in Ropar, Kiratpur Sahib, and Sri Anandpur Sahib. Additionally, Critical Care Services have been established at Sri Anandpur Sahib and Ropar to handle any serious medical situations.
He said that 39 Aam Aadmi Clinics are operational across the event locations at Sri Anandpur Sahib where people can avail medicines and get their tests done.
Sharing the health report for Sunday, Dr Singh disclosed that 1822 patients availed services at the Aam Aadmi Clinics set up in Sri Anandpur Sahib, and 174 lab tests were conducted.
To ensure swift medical response, the Punjab Government has deployed a robust fleet of 31 ambulances, which includes 24 Basic Life Support and 7 Advanced Life Support Ambulances, stationed at strategic locations round the clock. Special blood donation camps are also being organized across the event area.
