Haryana Government Announces Paid Leave for Delhi Municipal Corporation By-Elections

Chandigarh, November 25 — The Haryana Government has announced paid leave/special casual leave (with pay) on November 30 for employees working in government offices, educational institutions, boards, and corporations located in the state, who are registered voters of Delhi, in view of the by-elections to be held in 12 wards of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

A notification in this regard has been issued by Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi.

This leave has been granted under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, and Section 135-B of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (including the 1996 amendment).

Employees working in factories, shops and private establishments located in Haryana, who are registered voters of Delhi, will also be granted paid leave under Section 135-B of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, for the purpose of voting, so that all eligible voters can smoothly exercise their right to vote in the Delhi Municipal Corporation by-elections.
