One arrested under NDPS case
A case FIR No. 01 u/s 21 and 22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sector-49 against Mohammed Minaj R/o Sector-49/C, Chandigarh, who was apprehended near Beat Box, Sector-48, on 16-01-2026 at about 5:00 pm, and 6.51 grams of heroin and Methaqualone (MAX) were recovered from his possession. The accused is in police lock-up.
Murder
A case FIR No. 05 u/s 103(1), 351(3), 3(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-39 on the complaint of Mandeep @ Russel R/o Mauli Jagran, alleging that Krish @ Kashu and Honey attacked his brother Sumit @ Golu with a sharp knife near Paryas Building, Sector-38, on 16-01-2026 at about 2:15 pm. The injured was taken to PGI, where the doctor declared him brought dead. Investigation of this case is in progress.
Cheating
A case FIR No. 07 u/s 318(4), 61(2) BNS and Section 24 Immigration Act has been registered at Police Station Sector-17 on the complaint of Jagjeet Singh R/o Gandhi Nagar, Jalandhar (Punjab), alleging that Anubhav Garg and others of World Walk Immigration, SCO 110-111, Sector-17/C, Chandigarh, cheated him of ₹13,46,140 on the pretext of sending him abroad. Investigation of this case is in progress.
A case FIR No. 08 u/s 318(4), 61(2) BNS and Section 24 Immigration Act has been registered at Police Station Sector-17 on the complaint of Amarjeet Singh, Satnam Singh and Ravinder Nath R/o Fatehgarh Sahib (Punjab), alleging that Anubhav Garg and others of World Walk Immigration, Sector-17/C, Chandigarh, cheated them of ₹14,06,000 regarding visa. Investigation of this case is in progress.
A case FIR No. 09 u/s 318(4), 223 BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-17 on the complaint of Ramesh Chand R/o VPO Kanwi, District Mahendergarh (Haryana), alleging that Manjeet Ram Prakash, Pradeep Bhalla and others of Destination Fever, SCO 1130-1131, Cabin No-212, Sector-22/B, Chandigarh, cheated him of ₹17,50,000 regarding visa. Investigation of this case is in progress.
Accident
A case FIR No. 06 u/s 281, 125(A) BNS has been registered at Police Station Manimajra on the complaint of Ajit R/o Naya Gaon (Punjab), alleging that Himanshu driver of Verna car No. HR-51AZ-8510, hit his father-in-law Mahinder Singh, who was riding Activa No. CH-01AZ-4653, near FR light point on 15-01-2026 at about 9:30 pm. The injured was admitted to PGI. The accused was arrested and later released on bail.
Quarrel
A case FIR No. 02 u/s 115(2), 221, 121(1), 132, 126(2), 3(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-49 on the complaint of Tarun R/o Model Jail Complex, Sector-51, Chandigarh, alleging that Kailash Chauhan, Amritpal Singh @ Gurjar and Manjeet @ Mota @ Rahul @ Patwa, all inmates of Burail Jail, quarreled with iron rods inside the jail on 07-01-2026 at about 11:20 am. Kailash Chauhan was injured and admitted to GMCH-32.
