CHANDIGARH,27-01-2026-Department of Transfusion Medicine PGIMER and Thalassaemic Charitable Trust (TCT) in coordination with Glob Overseas Education Consultants Pvt. Ltd. celebrated 77th Republic Day by organizing its 324th Blood Donation Camp at Sector 10, Panchkula. The Blood Donation Camp was organised with the noble objective of supporting thalassaemia patients and other critically ill patients who require regular blood transfusions. TCT made elaborate arrangements to ensure the comfort and safety of all blood donors and also set up a dedicated desk to spread awareness about thalassaemia and the importance of voluntary blood donation. Gifts and badges were distributed and diet & food were provided to the blood donors and other motivators as a token of gratitude and encouragement. Hon’ble 35 voluntary blood donors actively participated and donated blood during the camp, demonstrating commendable social responsibility and compassion.
The camp was successfully conducted under the guidance of Prof(Dr) Ratti Ram Sharma, Head of the Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGI, and under the supervision of Dr. Jasmeet Kaur and Sh. Rajinder Kalra, Member Secretary-TCT alongwith their dedicated team and staff from the Department of Transfusion Medicine and TCT. S/Sh. Madan Gandhi and Amit Sood, Joint Secretaries TCT also blessed the blood donors.
Prof(Dr) Ratti Ram Sharma and Sh. Rajinder Kalra, emphasised the critical need for voluntary blood donation to support thalassaemia patients, who require regular blood transfusions every 15– 20 days, as well as other patients whose lives depend on timely blood support. They expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all the blood donors, the Department of Transfusion Medicine team, and the members of TCT PGIMER Chandigarh for their cooperation and support in making the camp a grand success.
