Law and Order to Be a Top Priority in Punjab: CM

Haryana Government Focused on Transparent Recruitment and Expansion of Infrastructure: CM

Chandigarh, February 21 – Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said the new thinking and positive energy of the youth will provide a new direction to the country. Expressing concern over the current situation in Punjab, he said the problem of drug abuse has increased there over the past few years, adversely affecting the younger generation. Keeping youth away from drug addiction is the need of the hour, and the Bharatiya Janata Party is fully committed to securing their future.

The Chief Minister was addressing a programme held in Chandigarh on Saturday. He said to raise awareness against drug abuse, cyclotrons and marathons are being organized in Haryana, with large participation from young people. Strict action is being taken against those involved in the illegal drug trade, and their properties are also being attached. Special awareness campaigns are being conducted in universities and educational institutions.

Speaking on rising crime, the Chief Minister said that strengthening law and order in Punjab to ensure peace, security, and stability will be a priority. Targeting the Aam Aadmi Party government, he said it has failed to fulfill its promises.

The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, the country has made remarkable progress and India’s global standing has been strengthened. In the field of infrastructure, the expansion of roads, national highways and connectivity has given new momentum to development.

On employment, he said that initiatives of the Central Government such as the MUDRA Yojana, Start-up India, Make in India, and Stand Up India have provided self-employment opportunities to youth. The Haryana Government has also provided government jobs through a transparent process without “kharchi-parchi”. In the past year, approximately 37,000 youth have been given government employment. Recently, recruitment for 12,500 posts has been announced, which are being filled with complete transparency to ensure equal opportunities for youth from all sections.

The Chief Minister said that in the field of sports, Haryana’s players have brought glory to the nation in various competitions, including the Olympics, Paralympics, and Asian Games. To encourage athletes, the government is providing cash awards worth crores of rupees.

CM Nayab Singh Saini Calls for Secure and Progressive Punjab at ‘Punjab Bachao’ Rally

Resolve to Eliminate Drugs, Corruption; Restore Law & Order in Punjab: CM

Punjab Is the Soul of India, Time for Change Has Come: CM

Chandigarh, February 21 – Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, while addressing ‘Punjab Bachao Rally’ held in Amritsar, said that Punjab is not just a state but the soul of India. The Chief Minister said this is the sacred land from where the message of ‘Sarbat da Bhala’ spread across the world from Sri Harmandir Sahib. It is the same place where Jallianwala Bagh still bears testimony to the sacrifices of the freedom struggle. Punjab has given Mother India immortal sons such as Bhagat Singh, Udham Singh, and Sukhdev.

He said that raising the slogan of ‘Punjab Bachao’ on such a great land brings pain but strengthens resolve. The Chief Minister said it is time for introspection—whether Punjab’s youth are moving towards a secure and confident future, or being pushed into the darkness of drugs and despair. Whether farmers are breathing a sigh of relief or are burdened under debt and uncertain policies. Whether traders are conducting business fearlessly or living under the shadow of extortion and insecurity.

Targeting the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party governments, he said that decades of Congress rule weakened Punjab through corruption and lax administration. The drug problem reached every village, but action remained confined to paperwork. Promises of loan waivers for farmers and employment for youth were made, but expected results were not seen on the ground.

He said that even after the Aam Aadmi Party came to power, people’s expectations have not been fulfilled. Despite more than four years in office, drugs have not been completely eradicated, nor have large-scale employment opportunities been provided to youth. The Chief Minister demanded that the Punjab Government issue a white paper detailing how many youth were given permanent employment in recent years and what concrete action has been taken against drug trafficking.

The Chief Minister said that in Haryana, Minimum Support Price (MSP) is being provided on 24 crops. Under the Lado Lakshmi Yojana, ₹5,000 crore has been allocated in the budget to provide assistance of ₹2,100. In case of crop loss due to natural disasters, full compensation is being given to farmers. He stated that while ₹1,139 crore was given as compensation during the Congress tenure, the BJP’s double-engine government has provided ₹15,500 crore to farmers.

He further informed that under the Ayushman/Chirayu Yojana, free medical treatment up to ₹5 lakh per family is being provided in Haryana, benefiting lakhs of beneficiaries. An amount of ₹4,500 crore has been spent on treatment under this scheme.

In Haryana, ₹3,200 per month is being given as Old Age Samman Allowance pension. In contrast, the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab had promised to increase the pension from ₹1,500 to ₹2,500, which has not yet been fulfilled.

The Chief Minister appealed to the people of Punjab to give the BJP an opportunity in the 2027 Assembly elections for development, good governance, and security. He expressed confidence that Punjab will play a decisive role in Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s resolve to make India a developed nation by 2047. He also assured that once a BJP government is formed, effective control will be imposed on organized crime in Punjab.

On this occasion, BJP leader Shwait Malik, programme convener Sahib Singh Muchhal, Raghubir Singh Chhinda, former MLA Bishan Saini, and other dignitaries were present.

Participation of Every Section of Society Essential for Creating a Clean Environment: Rao Narbir Singh

Chandigarh, February 21 – Haryana’s Environment, Forest and Wildlife Minister Rao Narbir Singh said the state government is working at various levels to reduce pollution and maintain cleanliness in Gurugram, but public participation plays the most crucial role in this direction. He said that cleanliness cannot be achieved through government efforts alone unless citizens actively cooperate. The involvement of every section of society is essential for building a clean environment.

The Cabinet Minister was addressing the Flower Festival organized in Gurugram today.

Minister Rao Narbir Singh said that although a ban on polythene has been in force since 2013, it is still being used by many people. He urged citizens to take the initiative themselves to stop using polythene so that others may also be inspired. Polythene is a major cause of pollution; it not only harms the environment but also leads to problems such as sewer blockages and waterlogging in cities. He added that a significant portion of pollution increases due to polythene, which can only be controlled through collective efforts.

He said that Indore has remained at the top position in the Swachh Survekshan rankings for several years, and this achievement has been made possible due to strong public participation there. He called upon people to contribute towards building a clean and healthy society, which will play a vital role in realizing the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
