Chandigarh, February 26:- In a decisive and citizen-centric initiative, Chandigarh Mayor Sh. Saurabh Joshi conducted a surprise visit to Village Hallomajra under the “Mayor at Your Doorstep” outreach, directly engaging with residents to hear their grievances and assess ground realities. The visit reflected the Municipal Corporation’s commitment to responsive governance and time-bound service delivery.
Accompanied by Superintending Engineer Sh. Dharminder Sharma, along with concerned Executive Engineers and Sub-Divisional Engineers during the inspection, the Mayor undertook an on-the-spot inspection of key civic concerns including sewerage systems, water supply lines, paver roads, sanitation, and other infrastructural gaps. Interacting openly with residents, he assured them that their concerns would not remain confined to paperwork but would be translated into visible and measurable action on the ground.
Taking serious note of pending development works, the Mayor issued clear directions to expedite the tendering process for critical projects such as sewer line upgradation, strengthening of water supply pipelines, and construction of paver roads. Emphasizing a zero-delay approach, he categorically stated that procedural bottlenecks will not be tolerated and that development works in Hallomajra will proceed in mission mode with strict timelines.
Speaking during the visit, the Mayor reiterated, “Service is not symbolic—it is action. Guided by the principle of ‘सेवा परमो धर्मः’, it is my duty to stand with citizens, resolve their issues, and ensure that development reaches every corner of Chandigarh.” He further directed officials to maintain strict monitoring mechanisms, ensure transparency at every stage, and guarantee time-bound completion of all sanctioned works.
Residents of Hallomajra welcomed the proactive intervention and expressed confidence that their long-pending civic issues will now witness swift resolution.
