Chandigarh, 16 March: The Department of Office Management and Secretarial Practice at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised a workshop titled ‘From Content to Creation: Professional Design for Institutional Branding’. The workshop aimed to familiarise students with contemporary tools and techniques in digital design, branding, and emerging media technologies.
The workshop was conducted by resource person Dr. Ajay Sharma, who introduced students to key aspects of digital creativity and professional design practices. He discussed modern digital marketing strategies including social media promotion, content creation, and branding techniques that help organisations strengthen their online presence. Students were also introduced to the fundamentals of graphic designing using CorelDraw, covering layout creation, poster and brochure design, and effective visual communication. The workshop further provided insights into virtual gaming, visual effects (VFX), and the principles of animation, highlighting their applications in films, media production, and digital storytelling. The session also explored emerging technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) and their growing relevance in education and industry. Students gained an overview of 3D game development, including modelling and environment creation, along with the essentials of logo designing, focusing on brand identity and colour psychology.
Appreciating the initiative, Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma stated that such workshops play a crucial role in equipping students with practical digital skills and creative competencies required in today’s technology-driven world.
