MAHENDERGARH, 25.03.26-The Department of Chemistry at the Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh organized a vibrant one-day annual sports meet on the university campus, bringing together students, research scholars, and faculty members in large numbers. As stated by the Head of the Department, Prof. Harish Kumar, the event witnessed the participation of more than 250 participants who competed in a wide range of sporting activities including cricket, volleyball, kho-kho, kabaddi, and various athletics events. The atmosphere remained highly energetic throughout the day, reflecting strong enthusiasm and sportsmanship among all participants.

In the evening session, events such as tug of war and standing long jump emerged as major highlights, drawing enthusiastic responses from the audience and participants alike. The Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. Pawan Kumar Sharma, graced the occasion as the chief guest and distributed prizes to the winners, appreciating the efforts of the organizers and encouraging students to balance academics with co-curricular activities. The event was coordinated by Dr. Deependra Bawari with support from research scholars Yajat Rohilla, Mohit Kumar, and Pawan, while faculty members including Prof. Rajesh Gupta, Prof. Gunjan Goyal, Prof. Vinod Kumar, Prof. Manoj Kumar Gupta, Dr. Sandeep Dhull and Dr. Azaj Ansari actively participated and motivated the students throughout the competitions.
The cricket and volleyball tournaments were won by Prof. Harish Kumar’s team, while Anjali’s team secured victory in kabaddi and Manshu’s team emerged winners in tug of war. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Rakesh Bhardwaj, who expressed gratitude to all organizers, participants, and guests for making the sports meet a grand success.
