MAHENDERGARH, 08.04.26-The Department of Biochemistry in association with the Central Instrumentation Centre (CIC), Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh organized a one-day Intensive Workshop on Confocal Microscopy Techniques on 08 April 2026. The workshop was conducted in collaboration with Nikon India Private Limited and witnessed the participation of around 150 students and researchers. Participants included M.Sc. students, PhD scholars, and faculty members from diverse disciplines such as Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Nutrition Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Chemistry, representing institutions including Central University of Haryana, Jamia Millia Islamia, Banasthali Vidyapith, Manipal University Jaipur, and DCRUST Murthal, among others.

Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Pro-Vice Chancellor, CUH, in his address highlighted the growing importance of advanced imaging technologies such as confocal microscopy in modern biological and biomedical research, emphasizing how high-resolution imaging helps scientists understand cellular processes with greater precision. Prof. Neelam Sangwan, Dean Research and Director, R&D Cell, spoke about the importance of microscopy in revealing intricate intracellular structures and molecular interactions, which are essential for advancing life science research.

The technical sessions were delivered by Dr. Pragyesh Dixit and Mr. Dhananjay Sharma from Nikon India, who provided insights into fluorescence imaging, sample preparation, fluorophore selection, and confocal imaging techniques, followed by a hands-on demonstration on the Nikon confocal microscope. The workshop was organized under the guidance of Prof. Vipan Parihar, Prof. Antresh Kumar, and Prof. Gunjan Goel, with coordination by Dr. Maruthi Mulaka, Dr. Saurabh C. Saxena, Dr. Inderjeet Kaur, Dr. Manisha Pandey, and Dr. Jitendra Kumar Saini. Several faculty members and researchers from the university also attended the program.
