Chandigarh, April 11: Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women accorded a warm and emotional farewell to its outgoing students through two memorable events- Udaan, the Hostel Farewell, and Aayam, the College Farewell, celebrating the culmination of an enriching academic journey.
Udaan witnessed an inspiring address by the Chief Guest, distinguished alumna Prof. Yojana Rajat, who fondly reminisced about her association with the institution as both a student and a faculty member. Describing the farewell as a defining milestone symbolising the transition into a new phase of life, she highlighted the deep emotional resonance of such occasions. She also applauded the college for its nurturing environment and dedicated faculty. The event was further marked by the felicitation of accomplished alumni who have excelled in various competitive examinations, motivating the outgoing students to pursue their aspirations with determination.
The celebrations continued with the college farewell- Aayam, where the presence of the star cast of the Punjabi film Khushkhabri- Binnu Dhillon, Payal Rajput, and Harby Sangha, added vibrancy and excitement to the occasion. Singer Soloman captivated the audience with soulful musical performances, enhancing the festive spirit.
Both the events were a perfect blend of nostalgia, celebration, and optimism, as students reflected on their cherished memories while looking ahead to new beginnings. The programmes featured a rich tapestry of cultural performances that showcased the diverse talents of MCM students. A highlight of the celebrations was the much-anticipated MCM Queen Contests, where participants displayed confidence, grace, and finesse, embodying the essence of empowered womanhood.
Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma extended her heartfelt blessings to the graduating students, encouraging them to treasure their college experiences and remain connected with their alma mater. She urged them to emerge as confident and responsible individuals, contributing meaningfully to society and upholding the values instilled during their time at the institution.
