Chandigarh, April 26:The 133rd episode of the Prime Minister’s Mann Ki Baat was listened to with great enthusiasm and unity today at Sector-25, Chandigarh, where sanitation worker organizations and leaders of the Valmiki community gathered along with Shri Hardeep Singh Gill, Vice Chairman of the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis.
Several prominent personalities, including Councillor Poonam and social worker Jyoti Hans, were also present on the occasion.
Speaking at the event, Shri Hardeep Singh Gill said that Mann Ki Baat is not merely a programme but has become a powerful medium to connect every section of society. He described it as an effective platform to convey the government’s vision and schemes to every citizen.
He further stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country has witnessed a new direction in religious, cultural, and infrastructural development. He highlighted that the grand construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya stands as a symbol of the long-standing faith of millions and has strengthened India’s cultural heritage while respecting the sentiments of crores of citizens.
Shri Gill also mentioned that the development of Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya is proving to be a milestone for regional growth. He appreciated the efforts made by the Prime Minister to uplift and honour the Valmiki community, stating that various schemes and social messages have helped integrate the community into the mainstream.
He further emphasized that the initiatives taken by the Central Government for the welfare of sanitation workers and the Valmiki community are commendable. He said that equal opportunities must be ensured for every section of society, and the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is consistently working in this direction.
Shri Gill added that several significant steps have been taken to provide dignity, security, and an improved standard of living to sanitation workers. He also noted that on multiple occasions, the Prime Minister has personally honoured sanitation workers by washing their feet, sending a strong message of respect across the country and reinforcing the idea that sanitation workers are true heroes of society.
On the occasion, Councillor Poonam said that the Valmiki community has always played a vital role in serving society and deserves full respect and rights. She added that such programmes play an important role in spreading awareness.
Social worker Jyoti Hans stated that the Prime Minister’s thoughts provide new direction to society and inspire youth to adopt a positive mindset. She also encouraged women to actively participate in social service.
A large number of dignitaries and community members, including representatives from sanitation workers’ unions and local organizations, were also present at the event.
