Two persons arrested in Excise Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Vivek Jain R/o # 72, Adarsh Nagar, Dera Bassi (Punjab) & Mahesh R/o Bhagat Singh Nagar Dera Bassi (Punjab) they were arrested along with car no. CH-01BX-7202 from grain market chowk on 04-05-2026 and recovered 24 bottles of budweiser, 2 bottles of jack daniels, 2 bottles of gray goose and 1 bottle of vat 69 recovered from his possession. A Case FIR No. 50 U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in Police Station Sector-26 Chandigarh later on accused persons were bailed out. Investigation of this case is in progress.

Snatching

A Case FIR No. 65 U/S 309(6) BNS has been registered in Police Station Sector-36 Chandigarh on the complaint of Gopal Sharma R/o # 85/1 Mailan Distt- Shimla Himachal Pardesh against unknown person who snatched complainant purse containing Aadhar Card, Pan Card, Hdfc Bank Atm, Canara Bank Atm, Cash Rs 1600/ and one mobile phone from near jungle Sector-53, Chandigarh on 03-05-2026. A Case FIR No. 59 U/S 303(2) BNS has been registered in Police Station Sector-34 Chandigarh on the complaint of Diljit Singh R/O Shop No. 342 Sector-44/D, Chandigarh (G-Secretary Market welfare association Sector-44/D) against unknown person who stole away compressor of air conditioners from SCO No. 358/1 Sector-44/D, Chandigarh on 02-05 2026.
