Chandigarh, 14.05.2026:As per the directions issued by Chief Secretary, UT Chandigarh Administration (U.T.) and the able guidance of Secretary Health, U.T. Administration and Director Health Services, U.T. Administration, Joint team comprising of Mr. Tajinder Singh, Drugs Inspector (South) and Anti Narcotic task force Chandigarh police raided various chemist shops in Sector-45 (Burail) Chandigarh.

During raid, the firm M/s Komal Chemist , Sector 45, Chandigarh was observed to have violated various provision of Drug & Cosmetic Act/ Rules and seized 01 type of allopathic drug( Codeine Cough Syrup) which is liable to be misused.

During the raid, firm was inspected and record of various habit forming drugs was examined, purchase/ sale record and schedule H1 register was not maintained. The action under the provisions of law has been initiated against the firm. Further investigation is being carried out.

Seized drug is being produced in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Chandigarh and Show-cause notice is being served to the firm. Strict action will be taken against the firm. Such drive shall be continued in future as well.
