PATNA; 18th May:Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, after paying obeisance at Takht Sri Harimandir Ji, Patna Sahib, the sacred birthplace and land blessed by the footsteps of the Tenth Sikh Guru Gobind Singh Ji, said Punjab has shown the entire country the path to protecting the honour of the Gurus by enacting the strictest law against beadbi. Offering prayers for the prosperity, well-being, and Chardi Kala of Punjab, Punjabis, and the entire Sikh Sangat, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann expressed gratitude to Guru Sahib for blessing Punjab with the opportunity to enact a stringent law against beadbi in order to uphold the sanctity and dignity of the holy Shabad Guru.
Calling beadbi an unforgivable crime against the faith of millions, the Chief Minister appealed to all state governments across the country to bring similarly tough laws, asserting that Punjab was ready to extend every possible help in this regard. CM Bhagwant Singh Mann further made it clear that anyone daring to commit beadbi of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in Punjab would now have to spend their entire life in jail, sending a firm message that no act hurting religious sentiments would be tolerated anymore.
Sharing a few snippets on X, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated: “Today, I had the privilege of paying obeisance at Takht Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib, the sacred birthplace and land blessed by the holy footsteps of the Tenth Master, Guru Gobind Singh Ji. I bowed before the Guru and offered prayers for the prosperity, well-being, and ever-rising spirit of Punjab, Punjabis, and the entire Sikh Sangat. I also expressed my heartfelt gratitude to the Guru Sahib for blessing us with the opportunity to uphold the sanctity of the holy Shabad Guru by enacting a strict law against beadbi. May Guru Sahib continue to shower His immense blessings upon everyone.”
After paying obeisance, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “I was blessed with the opportunity to pay obeisance at Takht Sri Harimandir Ji (Patna Sahib), the sacred birthplace of Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Bowing before Guru Sahib’s divine presence, I prayed for the prosperity, well-being and eternal Chardi Kala of Punjab, Punjabis and the entire Sikh Sangat across the world.”
The Chief Minister said that not only Sikhs, but every human being derives strength and inspiration from the sacred land blessed by the great Gurus. He noted that the teachings of Guru Sahib continue to guide humanity on the path of truth, compassion and universal brotherhood.
CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “I prayed that the ethos of communal harmony, peace and brotherhood becomes stronger with every passing day and that Punjab continues to lead the country in every sphere.” He added that he had sought blessings from the Almighty to fulfil the aspirations of the people of Punjab and serve them with complete dedication and commitment.
The Chief Minister further stated, “After paying obeisance at this divine land, I feel rejuvenated. This visit has filled me with new vigour and enthusiasm to serve the people of Punjab with missionary zeal.”
Expressing heartfelt gratitude to Guru Sahib, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Punjab has shown the entire country the path to protecting the honour of the Gurus by enacting the strictest law against beadbi. He said, “Guru Sahib blessed us with the Sewa of enacting a stringent law against beadbi. It is imperative to uphold the sanctity and dignity of the holy Shabad Guru.”
The Chief Minister reiterated that the Punjab Government remains fully committed to preserving the sanctity of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and ensuring strict punishment for anyone attempting to hurt the religious sentiments of people. He expressed hope that Guru Sahib would continue to shower boundless blessings on everyone and guide Punjab towards greater peace, prosperity and a Rangla Punjab.

PATNA; 18th May 2026:Launching a sharp attack on the BJP-led Union Government over rising inflation, restrictions on citizens, and alleged manipulation of democratic processes, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday said the Narendra Modi-led Centre has pushed the country into an “undeclared lockdown” while hiding the true state of the economy from people. Pointing out that the Centre artificially suppressed fuel prices until elections and is now burdening citizens immediately afterwards, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann demanded that the Union Government publicly disclose the actual status of India’s oil, gas, and gold reserves.
The Chief Minister asserted that the Punjab Government and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) would ensure that neither genuine voters are deleted nor fake voters added during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in Punjab. Speaking on the Jaagat Jyot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act, 2026, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said the law has fulfilled a long-pending demand of the Sikh sangat across the globe by ensuring strict punishment for beadbi of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

Interacting with media persons, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said the Narendra Modi-led Centre has effectively imposed an undeclared lockdown in the country. “The consequences of these restrictions are being borne by the entire nation while the Centre continues to hide the real condition of the economy from people,” he noted.
CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said the Prime Minister should publicly disclose the country’s oil, gas, and gold reserves so that citizens can understand the actual condition of the nation. He stated, “The people of the country have the right to know the truth about the economic situation. The Centre should place complete information regarding oil, gas, and gold reserves before the public instead of concealing facts.”

Targeting the Centre over fuel price hikes, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said the Central Government deliberately refrained from increasing fuel prices before Assembly elections in various states but immediately after the elections concluded, fuel prices were increased by ₹3 per litre and may rise further in the coming days. He stated, “Under the guise of war in Gulf countries, people are being crushed under the burden of inflation through repeated fuel price hikes.”
CM Bhagwant Singh Mann further remarked that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi cannot himself explain the country’s present economic condition and foreign policy, then he should ask his friend, US President Donald Trump, about it.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that people should not suffer inconvenience because of the whims and fancies of leaders and termed the situation unwarranted and undesirable.

On the issue of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists in Punjab, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said the process would begin in the state from June 15 and the Aam Aadmi Party has directed all its volunteers to remain vigilant throughout the exercise. He asserted, “Neither genuine voters will be allowed to be removed nor fake voters will be allowed to be added in Punjab.”
CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said it had become a tendency to delete names of genuine voters while adding fake voters to electoral rolls, but such incidents would not be allowed in Punjab. He stated that any attempt to muzzle democracy in the state would be strongly opposed and given a befitting reply.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said Sangat across the globe have wholeheartedly welcomed the law, which aims to ensure strict punishment for those involved in the heinous crime of beadbi. He stated, “The sacred Gurbani seeks the welfare of all humanity and it is our collective duty to uphold its sanctity, dignity, and respect.” He further added that the Punjab Government is fully committed to implementing the law in its true letter and spirit.
