CHANDIGARH POLICE BRIEF OF CASES DATED-24.05.2026
One arrested under NDPS Act
Distt. Crime Cell of Chandigarh Police arrested Salman @ Munna S/o R/o House No. 2362/3, Small Flat, Maloya Colony, aged 20 years, from Sector-40 C/D Turn on 23.05.2026 and found in possession of 6.92 grams of heroin. In this regard, a Case FIR No. 88 u/s 21, 22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station-39, Chandigarh DCC Sector-24 The accused has been lodged in police lock-up. Investigation of the case is in progress.
One arrested under Arms Act
A Case FIR No. 68 u/s 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at PoliStation-11 Chandigarh against Chhotu R/o House No. 62, Village Khuda Alisher, aged 23 years, who was apprehended near the underpass of PGC College, Sector-11/15, Chandigarh on 23.05.2026 at about 08:15 PM and found in possession of one sharp-edged prohibited knife. The accused has been lodged in police lock-up.
Cheating (Visa Fraud)
A Case FIR No. 66 u/s 316(2), 318(4), 336(3), 340(2) BNS & 24 Immigration Act has been registered at Police Station-26 Chandigarh on the complaint of Deepak Choudhary S/o Kailash Chand R/o House No. 366, Omaxe City, Jagadhari, Yamunanagar (HR) against Yuvraj Sobti and Ms. Harneet Walia, Directors of True Way Consultant, Sector-26, Chandigarh, who allegedly cheated the complainant of Rs. 20,34,000/- on the pretext of arranging a visa.
A Case FIR No. 47 u/s 318, 61 BNS has been registered at Police Station-03, Chandigarh on the complaint of Ravi Verma S/o Mahinder Lal R/o Village Nigdu, District Karnal (HR) against Rahul Narwal, Kiran Bala and Ravi Narwal of Sky Academy Immigration, Sector-9C, Chandigarh, who allegedly cheated the complainant of Rs. 16,25,000/- on the pretext of providing a work visa abroad.
A Case FIR No. 65 u/s 316(2), 318(4), 336(3), 340(2) BNS & 24 Immigration Act has been registered at Police Station-26 Chandigarh on the complaint of Babita R/o House No. 1369, B-10, Adarsh Nagar, Naya Gaon (PB) against Yuvraj Sobti and Ms. Harneet Walia, Chandigarh, who allegedly cheated the complainant of Rs. 18,38,000/- regarding a visa.
Cheating (Vehicle Misappropriation)
A Case FIR No. 72 u/s 316(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of Bhavishya Mittal R/o House No. 89, Burail, Chandigarh against Harwinder Singh S/o Harish Goyal R/o Zirakpur (PB) who rented vehicle No. HR-12AW-8772 and allegedly misappropriated it by neither paying the hire charges nor returning the vehicle to its owner.

A Case FIR No. 82 u/s 316(2), 318(4) BNS has been registered at Police Station-36, Chandigarh on the complaint of Rajinder Kumar S/o Madan Lal R/o House No. 141, Street No. 6, Kansal Niwas, Punia Colony, Sangrur (PB) against Sameer Juneja S/o Parmod Juneja R/o House No. 2127, Sector-35C, Chandigarh, who allegedly cheated the complainant of Rs. 65,00,000/- regarding the sale of property.
Accident
A Case FIR No. 53 u/s 281, 125(A) BNS has been registered at Police Station- Ind Area Chandigarh on the complaint of Ved Prakash S/o Daya Ram R/o House No. 1458/16, Sector-29B, Chandigarh regarding an accident in which an unknown car driver hit the complainant's father Daya Ram S/o Ram Ujagar near Centra Mall and fled from the spot on 22.05.2026 at about 10:00 PM. The victim sustained injuries and was admitted to GMCH-32.
A Case FIR No. 83 u/s 281, 125(A), 125(B) BNS has been registered at Police Station-36, Chandigarh on the complaint of Poonam W/o Jitender Kumar R/o House No. 344, Sector-57, Mohali (PB) against Rahul S/o Mohinder Singh R/o Village Nahoni, District Ambala (HR), driver of CTU Bus No. CH01-TC-3314, who allegedly hit the complainant's husband Jitender Kumar near Sector-36/37, 41/42 Chowk on 23.05.2026 at about 03:10 PM. The victim sustained injuries and was admitted to PGI.

A Case FIR No. 71 u/s 305 BNS has been registered at Police Station Chandigarh on the complaint of R.L. Chugh, President, Welfare Council Society, Sector-44A, Chandigarh against an unknown person who stole an LPG cylinder from the basement of Shree Radha Krishan Mandir, Sector-44A, Chandigarh on 17.05.2026 between 02:00 PM and 03:00 PM.
A Case FIR No. 48 u/s 306 BNS has been registered at Police Station-36, Chandigarh on the complaint of Ravneet Brar R/o Sector-10A, Chandigarh against maid Deepa W/o Roshan R/o House No. 42, Sector-10A, Chandigarh, who allegedly stole a gold earring and household articles on 20.05.2026. Investigation of the case is in progress.
