Law and Order Situation in Punjab Alarming, AAP Has Failed to Fulfil Its Promises: CM Nayab Singh Saini

Chandigarh, May 31 – Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party are working in tandem and share similar ideology. Referring to the recently held municipal elections in Punjab, he said the manner in which law and order was allegedly compromised has raised serious questions about the democratic system. He stated that by conducting the elections through ballot papers, the Punjab Government demonstrated that it was apprehensive about-facing defeat in a transparent democratic process.

Speaking to journalists in Kapurthala on Sunday, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the Punjab Government had made big promises to the people but failed to fulfil them. He added that the public now understands that development cannot be achieved merely through announcements and false assurances.

The Chief Minister said that the Aam Aadmi Party government should inform the people how many of the promises made during elections have actually been fulfilled. He alleged that the expected progress in development works has not been achieved and that the law and order situation in the state has continuously deteriorated. Gangster and criminal activities have increased in Punjab, leading to a growing sense of insecurity among ordinary citizens.

He further stated that the Punjab Government’s anti-drug campaign, ‘Yudh Nashe Virudh’, has also failed to deliver the expected results. Instead of taking concrete measures to protect youth from drug abuse and eradicate the menace, more focus was on publicity. He said the government should have made more serious efforts in this direction, but the desired outcomes are not visible on the ground.

Double-Engine Government in Haryana Has Accelerated Welfare Schemes

The Chief Minister said that Haryana’s double-engine government has worked to deliver public welfare benefits directly to the people through various schemes. By integrating the Central Government’s Ayushman Bharat Scheme with the State Government’s Chirayu Scheme, lakhs of families in Haryana have been provided access to better healthcare facilities. He said the government has taken effective steps to ensure free treatment for poor and needy people.

He further said that the people of Punjab are increasingly placing their trust in the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi and his development-oriented policies, and in the coming times, they will work towards bringing the BJP to power in the state. He added that the people want development, good governance and accountability in politics and will no longer be satisfied with mere promises.

Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Dedicated Her Entire Life to Society, Nation and Culture: Harvinder Kalyan

Youth Should Embrace the Values and Spirit of Service of Great Personalities: Harvinder Kalyan

Chandigarh, May 31 – Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Sh. Harvinder Kalyan today attended various programmes organised in Sadarpur, Rasulpur Kalan and Gharaunda villages of Karnal district on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. He participated in the events as the Chief Guest and paid floral tributes to Devi Ahilyabai Holkar.

Sh. Harvinder Kalyan said that Devi Ahilyabai Holkar dedicated her entire life to the service of society, the nation and culture. He said that at a time when the country was facing external invasions and social evils, she took upon herself the responsibility of protecting society and preserving cultural values. Rejecting regressive practices such as Sati, she embraced education and governance and played a significant role in strengthening India’s cultural heritage through initiatives such as the restoration of the Somnath Temple.

He said that India was once known as the “Golden Bird” because of its prosperity. He further remarked that the Mughal rulers and later the British looted the country extensively and attempted to weaken Indian culture by removing the contributions of great personalities from historical narratives.

Sh. Harvinder Kalyan said that the present government has taken the historic decision to celebrate the birth anniversaries of all great personalities at the government level. The primary objective of this initiative is to unite society above caste considerations and strengthen social harmony.

He said that great personalities do not belong to any particular caste, community or section of society; rather, their thoughts and ideals are a shared heritage of humanity. When people from all sections of society come together to celebrate such occasions, it further strengthens social unity and brotherhood.

The Speaker particularly urged the youth and children to connect themselves with the ideals of great personalities. He said that progress should not remain confined to personal success alone; people should also pay attention to the weaker and underprivileged sections of society and work for their welfare.

Citing the examples of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, he said that these distinguished personalities emerged from humble and modest backgrounds and, through hard work, dedication and honesty, rose to occupy the highest positions in the country. Their lives continue to inspire future generations to pursue excellence through perseverance and commitment.
