Chandigarh, August 2- Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said not only the youth of Haryana and Punjab, but young people across the country need to be kept away from drug addiction to realise the dream of a Viksit Bharat. He said that while the Haryana Government, with strong determination, is successfully moving forward towards achieving this goal by regularly engaging youth through Raahgiri, Cyclothon and marathon events, the Punjab Government has neither been able to curb drug abuse nor succeeded in providing employment to the youth.
Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini made these remarks while addressing a programme organised in Kotkapura, Punjab, on the occasion of the nationwide launch of the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’. Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi virtually launched the 100-week nationwide Nasha Mukt Yuva campaign and addressed more than one crore youth participating in programmes organised at 28,000 locations across the country.
Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said the Haryana Government has undertaken a drug-free campaign and helped bring youth out of the vicious cycle of drug abuse, whereas drug abuse has increased over time in Punjab. He said the youth in Punjab are not getting employment, which has adversely affected their condition, and the younger generation is increasingly getting trapped in the quagmire of drug abuse. He said the present Aam Aadmi Party government and the previous Congress governments in Punjab made tall promises for the youth and farmers, but after coming to power, they never showed any interest in fulfilling them.
The Chief Minister said that after the BJP government is formed in Punjab in the upcoming Assembly elections, welfare schemes for youth and farmers will be implemented there as well, on the lines of Haryana. In Haryana, the Government is procuring all 24 crops from farmers at Minimum Support Price (MSP), while the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana has been implemented for fruits and vegetables. Under this scheme, if these crops are sold in the market at a lower price, the Government compensates farmers for the difference. On similar lines, farmers in Punjab will also benefit from these schemes after the formation of a BJP government in the state.
Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the country can become a developed nation only when every young person understands the harmful effects of drugs and not only stays away from addiction himself but also motivates other youth to remain drug-free. Drug abuse harms not just an individual but also their family, state and the entire country. The dreams of the family of a person trapped in drug addiction also wither away. Therefore, every young person must understand the seriousness of the issue and stay away from drug abuse.

Haryana sports persons Bag 7 out of 13 Gold Medals
Chandigarh, August 2: Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the sportspersons who have won medals in the Commonwealth Games have brought laurels to the nation. The country has won a total of 13 Gold Medals in these Games, of which 7 Gold Medals have been won by Haryana’s sportspersons.
Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the sportspersons and said that it is a matter of immense pride that a small state in terms of population has brought glory to India at the global level. Even in international sporting competitions held earlier, Haryana’s sports persons have won the highest number of medals. The state’s women athletes have also won the highest number of medals. Haryana’s sports persons have delivered an outstanding performance in boxing and javelin at the Commonwealth Games.
Commonwealth Games Medal Winners
Among the medal winners, Rewari’s para-athlete Sharmila won a Gold Medal, while Bhiwani’s boxers Preeti Pawar, Jasmine Lamboria, Sakshi Chaudhary, Sachin Siwach, Priya Ghanghas and Hisar’s boxer Ankush won Gold Medals. Similarly, Panipat’s javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra and Hansi’s boxer Narender Berwal won Silver Medals. Bhiwani’s athlete Seema won a Bronze Medal in the discus throw.
The Chief Minister said that out of the total 13 Gold Medals won by the country in the Commonwealth Games, 7 Gold Medals have been won by Haryana’s sportspersons. The state’s sportspersons have brought laurels to Haryana and the country by winning 7 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze medal. He also extended his best wishes to the parents of the sportspersons. These achievements of the athletes will inspire lakhs of youth across the state.
The Chief Minister said that the Haryana Government is working with full commitment for sports and sportspersons and has provided special facilities to athletes. This is why Haryana is known as a powerhouse of sports, and the state’s sportspersons prove this distinction time and again. He said that the Government has taken effective measures under the new sports policy.
The Chief Minister said that under the sports policy, besides government jobs, cash awards are also provided to sportspersons. In addition, indoor stadiums, synthetic tracks and world-class academies are being established. Sports nurseries and new playgrounds have been developed at the village level. Gymnasiums have also been opened across the state.
Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that under women empowerment initiatives, special sports scholarships and free coaching facilities are being made available to daughters. With the resolve of “Khelenge Haryana, Jeetenge Haryana”, the Government is taking sports to new heights by providing sportspersons with world-class facilities, better coaching and financial assistance.

100-Week Drug De-Addiction Campaign to Be Implemented Under Kashi Spiritual Summit Declaration
Chandigarh, August 2: Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports and Labour and Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, said on the occasion of “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan” that the campaign is a historic mass movement aimed at mobilising the power of youth towards building a Viksit Bharat. The role of healthy, empowered and aware youth of the country is most important in realising the vision of Viksit Bharat envisioned by Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi from the Red Fort.
Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya was the chief guest at the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp’ programme held in Faridabad, which was addressed by Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi through video conferencing.
Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya said that only healthy citizens can build a healthy society and a prosperous nation. The Prime Minister has described the youth as the charioteers of nation-building during Amrit Kaal, and My Bharat was established with the objective of providing direction to their aspirations, ideas, spirit of service and leadership capabilities. Today, this platform has connected more than 2.24 crore youth with nation-building activities.
He said that to take forward the resolve for a drug-free India expressed by the Prime Minister in 2020, the My Bharat youth organisation prepared a comprehensive action plan in collaboration with spiritual organisations, youth wings and experts associated with de-addiction across the country. In this regard, following two days of deliberations at the Spiritual Youth Conference held in Varanasi last year, an action plan for the next 100 weeks was prepared and given the form of the “Kashi Spiritual Summit Declaration.”
Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya said that reputed spiritual organisations from across the country are joining the campaign. Saints, gurus and spiritual leaders from several organisations, including Mata Amritanandamayi Math and Art of Living, are actively extending their support to keep youth away from drugs.
He said that the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Fit India Movement and other mass campaigns under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi have demonstrated that even seemingly impossible goals can be achieved through clear leadership, strong resolve and people’s participation. With the same confidence, the youth of the country are coming forward to build a drug-free India.
He said that the main objective of this campaign is to keep youth away from drugs and connect them with sports, service, innovation, volunteering and nation-building. He expressed confidence that with the inspiration of the Prime Minister, the blessings of saints and spiritual gurus, and the collective resolve of crores of youth, the goal of a drug-free India and a Viksit Bharat will certainly be achieved.

Gaurav Gautam, said that cooperation is not merely a department but a strong foundation of India’s prosperous social and economic system.
