Chandigarh, 13.10.2026:The Market Committee, Sector 26, Chandigarh, has initiated an infrastructure overhaul at the Sector 26 Grain, Fruit and Vegetable Market through the Chief Engineer, U.T. Chandigarh. Road reconstruction and drainage upgradation works commenced today to address long-pending issues and improve civic amenities.

Sh. D. Karthikeyan, IAS, Secretary, State Agricultural Marketing Board, Chandigarh Administration, along with Smt. Khushpreet Kaur, DANICS, Administrator, Market Committee, U.T. Chandigarh, inspected the mandi today to review sanitation and infrastructure works. Directions were issued to expedite sanitation activities and undertake road reconstruction in phases to minimise inconvenience to traders and the general public and ensure smooth traffic movement during construction. Traders and the public were urged to extend their cooperation during the construction phase.

The initiative aims to provide lasting solutions to infrastructure-related issues and improve the overall functioning of the mandi.
