BJP's caravan in the state is growing stronger each day as ground reality turns decisively against AAP: Kewal Singh Dhillon

New Delhi / Chandigarh, November 2-In a major political development marking a decisive shift in Punjab’s political landscape, three sitting Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) from the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)—Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh (Amritsar North), Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra (Sanour), and former minister Chetan Singh Jouramajra (Samana)—formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today in the presence of BJP Punjab State President Kewal Singh Dhillon, Punjab Affairs In-charge Dr. Satish Poonia, and BJP Punjab Co-Incharge Virendra Sachdeva and other senior party leadership.

Welcoming the legislators into the party fold, party’s Punjab president Kewal Singh Dhillon described the event as a clear indicator of the impending end of the AAP regime in Punjab. He noted that the BJP's caravan in the state is growing stronger each day as ground reality turns decisively against the ruling party.

"When sitting MLAs and leaders walk away from a party in power, it speaks volumes. AAP is a sinking boat, and its broom has completely scattered. For nearly five years, the people of Punjab have been betrayed with unfulfilled promises, while drugs, rampant corruption, lawlessness, and unprecedented debt have pushed the state to the brink. Today, we assure our new colleagues that their sentiments and dedication to Punjab will receive full honor and respect within the BJP family," Dhillon stated.

Where’s Kejriwal, he asked as he pointed to the state government's insensitivity, highlighting that while anti-drug crusaders like Parminder Singh Jhota laid down their lives fighting narcotics in Mansa, AAP's leadership did not even bother to console the bereaved families.

Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh: "My 5-Year Internship with AAP Ends Today"
Former senior IPS officer and MLA Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh expressed profound gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central BJP leadership for their visionary outlook and genuine affinity towards Punjab.

Speaking about the collapse of law and order, he stated that Punjab is fighting an existential battle where Punjabiyat has been sidelined. Gangsterism and extortion have turned into organized industries, the former IPS officer said.

He highlighted the grave situation where gangsters are finding patronage within the ruling setup, which he was a witness to since he visits different courts in cases to depose against them.
Pointed out that Punjab—which led the nation in progress and features prominently in the national anthem—has been pushed to the bottom. He underlined that PM Modi’s governance model alone can restore peace, industry, and prosperity to the border state.

Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra: "From 'Udta Punjab' to 'Ubharta Punjab'"
Expressing satisfaction at joining the BJP, Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra held the AAP leadership accountable for betraying Punjab-centric voices.Alleged that the AAP leadership systematically clipped the wings of leaders who genuinely advocated for Punjab and its community concerns.

Highlighted that AAP’s financial mismanagement has plunged the state into deep peril, burdening Punjab with over ₹2.5 lakh crore in debt.He urged the people of Punjab to decisively reject AAP's misrule and support the BJP to build an 'Ubharta Punjab' (Rising Punjab) free of narcotics and gang violence.

Chetan Singh Jouramajra: "Double-Engine Governance Essential for Real Progress"
Former minister Chetan Singh Jouramajra stated that the delivered track record of Prime Minister Narendra Modi globally and nationally stood out as the principal inspiration for their decision to join BJP.He criticized AAP’s hollow claims regarding rural healthcare, citing the closure of village dispensaries and non-acceptance of healthcare cards at major hospitals.
He noted the severe blow to manufacturing hubs like Mandi Gobindgarh and Batala due to state-level administrative apathy and pending GST refunds.
He pointed out that AAP ministers routinely avoided coordinating with central ministries out of political fear, depriving the border state of vital central development initiatives and funds.

United for a 'Rangla Punjab'
The newly inducted leaders reaffirmed their commitment to working tirelessly under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National Leadership, and State Leadership to pull Punjab out of the quagmire of crime, debt, and substance abuse, and restore its historical stature as a vibrant, secure, and prosperous state.

Taking action against farmers over stubble-burning cases reflects the anti-farmer mindset of the AAP government: Avinash Rai Khanna

Instead of imposing fines and registering FIRs against farmers, the government should provide them with necessary machinery and financial assistance for stubble management: Khanna

Chandigarh, November 2:Addressing the rising incidents of stubble burning in Punjab, Former Punjab BJP State President Avinash Rai Khanna strongly criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, stating that registering FIRs against farmers, imposing fines, and making 'red entries' in their land records is in no way a solution to the problem. Instead of taking action against farmers, the government should understand their difficulties and address their concerns.

He said that as cases of stubble burning continue to emerge across the state, it is the government's responsibility to ensure that farmers are provided with the necessary machinery, subsidies, diesel and financial assistance on time for proper stubble management. Adequate arrangements should be made at the village level to provide small and marginal farmers with access to balers, Happy Seeders, Super Seeders and other agricultural equipment on a rental basis.
Khanna said that farmers are already struggling with the rising cost of cultivation, increasing agricultural expenses and natural calamities. Imposing additional financial burdens through fines and initiating police action against them under such circumstances is unfortunate.

He urged the government to hold discussions with farmers' organisations and find a practical solution to the problem. Instead of penalising farmers, the government should provide them with the necessary facilities and encourage them to adopt effective methods of stubble management.
