AIR WING NCC ENROLMENT RALLY AT DAV COLLEGE SECTOR 10 CHANDIGARH

Chandigarh,08.08.18:No.1 Chandigarh Air Squadron NCC Chandigarh started enrollment of senior division cadets from UT colleges. It started today from one of the most prestigious college of the city beautiful. founded in year 1958, DAV College Chandigarh which is commonly known as DAV 10.

The college has a very rich history and has a tradition of remembering its students who laid down their lives for the service of the nation. Wing Commander M R Pandeya, Commanding Officer, 1Chd Air Sqn NCC, Chandigarh started the enrollment rally by paying tribute at the memorial of an ex air NCC cadet of No. 1 Chd Air Sqn NCC Chandigarh and a student of DAV College, Captain VikramBatra, ParamVir Chakra, Kargil martyr.

As many as 120 students including 52 girls attended the enrollment presentation given by WgCdr M R Pandeyawho himself is an ex air NCC cadet. The aim of presentation was to create awareness and give an insight about NCC. He apprised the students of various activities undertaken as part of NCC Training, the benefits of joining NCC, various Scholarships admissible to the cadets, how NCC helps in joining Armed forces, Para Military and State Govt Services. Publicity material giving detailed information of how to join Indian Air Force were also distributed to the students. Students were later interviewed and given enrollment forms. Aero modeling show was conducted for students as part of enrollment rally and to showcase an expensive hobby being taught to air NCC cadets free of cost under the able guidance of Aero modeling Instructor MrDaamanonce again an ex air NCC cadet. The next enrollment rally is planned on 09Aug 18 at PGGC, Sector 11, Chandigarh.

Chandigarh,09.08.18: The Principal of the PGGC-11 Prof. (Dr.) Rama Arora flagged of the enrollment drive of NCC air wing of PGGC-11 by inaugurating an Aero Modeling Show in the sports complex. She was accompanied by Wing Commander M R Pandeya, Commanding Officer, 1Chd Air Sqn NCC, Chandigarh and Dean College Instruction Prof. RanjjanVerma. Both girls and boys along with faculty members enjoyed the breath taking Aero Modeling Show which was conducted by Mr. Daaman. The Aero Modelling Show was aimed to showcase how an expensive hobby being taught to air NCC cadets free of cost. Prof. (Dr) Rama Arora in her inspiring address to the students exhorted them to remember the dreams laid out by the freedom fighters for an independent India. She in her address recounted the sacrifice made by the three wings of the Indian Armed Forces. Being a Professor of Physics she pointed out that NCC Air Wing Cadets can also go in for research with defence research organization like DRDO and TBRL. Dr. Rakesh Thakur, the caretaker of NCC Air Wing of PGGC-11 presented a brief report of last two years mentioning the various laurels won by NCC Air Wing Cadets of the college. He wished that the new cadets would uphold the glorious tradition of the college instilled in its motto “HIGHER and STILL HIGHER”
