Chandigarh:08.01.19-An NCC training camp is underway for the cadets of NCC Air Wing at Air Force Station Chandigarh from January 01 to 10. A total of 123 NCC cadets, including 39 girls are attending the camp.

During the camp, cadets are being exposed to intensive training activities which included both outdoor and classroom lectures. While the cadets are being exposed to Aero modelling, Weapon Handling, PT, Parade, Sports and during the outdoor training, classroom lectures are also conducted on various topics like history of Indian Air Force (IAF), precautionary measures of flying training, the role of Air Traffic Control,Meteorology and Navigation in Aviation.In addition, general topics such as First aid,Cyber Security, Fire fighting, the selectionprocess in the IAF and Personality Development are also being covered.

This combined annual training camp of the unit was planned with a view to provide an insight into the functioning of the Indian Air Force and to motivate them to join the service. Chandigarh Airwing NCC has a rich history and is known as a feeder NCC squadron for the Armed Forces, said Group captain M R Pandeya, Camp commandant and Commanding Officer of Air wing NCC Chandigarh

Cadets are also being given exposure to aviation activities by visiting various sections of the station which included a visit to aircrafts, Meteorology Section, Fire Section and Air Traffic Control. The camp would culminate with a camp fire, wherein the cadets would showcase their talent in the variety entertainment programme.
