04 persons arrested while consuming liquor at public place under special drive

In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out in different parts of the city. Under this drive total 04 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 04 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-17= 03 cases, PS-I.T. Park = 01 case.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Two arrested for possessing illegal liquor

Chandigarh Police arrested Balwinder R/o # 6548/B, Sector- 56, Chandigarh while he was illegally possessing 20 quarters of country made liquor from T-Point near Sports complex, Sector- 56, Chandigarh on 21.07.2019. A case FIR No. 230, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Sheru Kumar R/o # 6614/B, Sector- 56, Chandigarh while he was illegally possessing 20 quarters of country made liquor from near Sr. Sec. School, Sector- 56, Chandigarh on 21.07.2019. A case FIR No. 231, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against Gambling/Satta

Chandigarh Police arrested Krishan Lal R/o # 256, Indira Colony, Manimajra, Chandigarh and Lakhan R/o # 1913, Indira Colony, Manimajra, Chandigarh both were arrested from Public toilet, Indira Colony, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 21.07.2019. Total cash Rs. 2,500/- was recovered from their possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 164, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-I.T Park, Chandigarh. Later they released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against violation of orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh

A case FIR No. 101, U/S 188 IPC has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh against Pyara Singh R/o # 238, village- Sarangpur, who rent out his residence but did not given information to local Police. Accused arrested and later bailed out.

MV Theft

Rajiv Kumar R/o # 757, Phase- 2, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s M/Cycle No. CH-01AP-6064 while parked near # 1280, Sector- 22/B, Chandigarh on 13.07.2019. A case FIR No. 233, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 163, U/S 279, 304-A IPC has been registered in PS-I.T Park, against diver of unknown vehicle who sped away after hitting to motor cycle No. CH-01BL-4946 near railway light point, Chandigarh on 21.07.2019. Occupant of motor cycle namely Mohhamad Shanu R/o # 1436/16, Sector- 29/B, Chandigarh (age- 26 yrs.), Shahrukh (age- 25 yrs) and Haider R/o # 1435/11, Sector- 29/B, Chandigarh (age- 24 yrs) got injured and admitted in PGI, Chandigarh where they declared brought dead. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Burglary

Ladala R/o # 1310, Village- Burail, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away cash 8000/-, 02 mobile phones, gold mangal sutra, 01 pair of anklets from complainant’s residence during night intervening 20/21.07.2019. A case FIR No. 190, U/S 380, 457 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

SAVE ENVIORNMENT

To contribute to the green cover of the city with the onset of monsoon, today i.e. on 22.07.2019, the Security & Traffic unit of Chandigarh Police organized a Tree Plantation Drive in the premises of Security & Traffic Lines, Sector-29, Chandigarh. During this drive, about 48 different types of plants were planted. In this drive, Sh. Shashank Anand, IPS, SSP-Security & Traffic, all DSPs and Inspectors of Security & Traffic along with other staff have planted the trees.

Chandigarh Traffic Police conducted a special drive against traffic violations by school buses, school vans and autos.

Today, i.e. 22.07.2019, Chandigarh Traffic Police conducted a special drive against traffic violations by school buses, school vans and autos. Total 04 nakas were laid at prominent locations as part of drive, wherein total 124 challan were issued for violations of traffic and STRAPS, 37 school bus/van issued challan and one school bus was impounded, 29 TSR, 18 taxies were prosecuted during drive, also 23 challan were issued to riders without helmet and 17 other misc challan were issued. Further, this special drive will be continued against school buses, vans and autos to curb the violations of traffic and STRAPS as well.

Bablu @ Gurrila S/o Shri Surender, Address-R/o #1755(GF), Dhanas, Chandigarh, Age-18 Years & 3. Ajay S/o Shri Vinod Kumar Address-R/o #1907-B, Dhanas, Chandigarh, Age-18 Years and worked out 01 case of snatching.

Brief facts of case has been worked out :-

1.FIR No. 167 dated 11.06.2019 U/S 379, 356 IPC, PS-39, Chandigarh.

This case has been registered on the complaint of Gagan S/o Shri Dev Narayan R/o #81/B, Dhanas Chandigarh, in which, he reported that on 11.06.2019 at about 12.00 midnight when he after finishing his work was going back to his house on his cycle and reached Near 25/38 Light Point, Sector-38, Chandigarh, in the meantime, 03 youngsters came on Motor Cycle from his backside and snatched his Mobile Phone MI Redmi 4 Colour White and fled away from the spot.

2. Bablu @ Gurilla S/o Shri Surender, Address-R/o #1755(GF), Dhanas, Chandigarh, Age-18 Years, Qualification-8th, Occupation-Sale of clothes in Marker Sector-19, Father-Punjab Home Guard, Mother-House Wife (he is having 03 brothers).

3. Ajay S/o Shri Vinod Kumar Address-R/o #1907-B, Dhanas, Chandigarh, Age-18 Years, Qualification-8th, Occupation-Peon at AS Financers Pvt. Ltd, Sector-35, Chandigarh, Father-Labour, Mother-Sweeper (he is having 02 brothers & 02 sisters).

CHANDIGARH POLICE SWANG IN TO ACTION

Whenreceived an email dated 01.05.2019 from Aashiana, Sec-15, Chandigarh to trace out the parents of girl child namely Kajal, Age – 14 years

Anti Human Trafficking Unit of W&CSU received an email dated 01.05.2019 from Aashiana, Sec-15, Chandigarh to trace out the parents of girl child namely Kajal, Age – 14 years, who was got admitted in Aashiana, Chandigarh under the category of runaway. During the Operation Muskaan ‘V’ the team was constituted under the leadership of Insp. Sukhdweep Singh comprising two officials namely HC Rakesh Singh, 736/CP and Const. Satish, 3739/CP. All the details of girl child Kajal was collected from Aashiana, Chandigarh. The officials of Aashiana, Sec-15, Chandigarh told that she belongs to village - Shodapur, Panipat. This team of Operation Muskaan ‘V’ visited to Panipat, Haryana and traced out the parents of girl child Kajal after sincere efforts. In this regard, a FIR No. 105, dated 10.02.2019 has already been lodged in Model Town, Police Station, Panipat, Haryana. This team returned back to Aashiana, Sec-15, Chandigarh alongwith the parents of girl child Kajal on 22.07.2019. The happiness of mother (Seema) of girl child Kajal touch the sky when they met her daughter. Now, girl child Kajal has been re-united with her parents with the concerted efforts of Anti Human Trafficking Unit, Sec- 17, Chandigarh under the guidance of Sh. Charanjit Singh Virk, DSP/W&CSU, Sec- 17, Chd and after following the proper procedure before Child Welfare Committee, Chandigarh.
