Chandigarh 22 Sep 2019, NCC Group commander Chandigarh Brigadier Ranjit Singh today flagged off the Pan India SwachhtaPakhwada Cycle Rally organized by National Cadet Corps (NCC) Group, Chandigarh as part of NCC Directorate, (Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh) at NCC Complex, Sector 31, Chandigarh, today. The aim of this rally is to generate awareness and importance of swachhta in day to day life of the citizen especially in rural India from where the rally will be passing. Col Sanjay Khandaria, Training Officer, Group Captain M R Pandeya, CO NCC Airwing, Col Sheoran, CO NCC Girls Bn, Lt Col SurinderAdmOffr NCC Boys Bn Chandigarh, staff and cadets were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Brigadier Ranjit said that NCC cadets of Chandigarh have always set an example by their initiative and have achieved the desired standards in every assignment. Refering to “Swachh Bharat Summer Internship 2019”he appreciated the job done by Airwing cadets which was appreciated by every resident of Village Behlana. He wished all the participants of “PAN INDIA SWACHH BHARAT CYCLE RALLY”, a happy and safe cycling and said that this great effort by cadets would prove helpful in spreading awareness towards cleanliness in the society.

NCC was conducting a pan India relay cycle rally from 8th August, 2019 to 27th September, 2019 as part of SwachhtaPakhwada 2019. The cycle rallies have commenced or were commencing from various places in India and will finally converge at New Delhi on 27th September, 2019,said Group captain M R Pandeya, CO Airwing NCC.The rally was being organized in the form of a relay, wherein 15 cadets would take part in the cycle rally at one point and would keep on changing and handing over the baton to the cadets of next NCC group enroute, he added. The present rally has started from Shimla, wherein 30 cadets of Shimla group would cycle in two phases of 15 cadets each up to Chandigarh and from here 15 cadets of NCC Group, Chandigarh would further take the rally up to Ambalacantt.
