Amritsar 13 December: Sports, Youth and NRI affairs minister of Punjab, Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi appealed Industrialists to open new avenues of jobs while expanding their business, he mentioned that the government is ready to provide every possible support to them.

Rana Sodhi was addressing to the industrialists reached from all parts of the country during the 14th edition of PITEX organized by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He mentioned that the government has done the required changes in the industrial policy and made is suitable as per the need of the industry. He apprised that the government has done agreement with UK and Canada to open common skill development centre in Punjab and the project will commence soon in next year, as per the agreement the international experts will train the youth of Punjab as per the international demand and the infrastructure will be supported by Punjab government. He mentioned that the Tourism is also getting a boost because of the zero tolerance policy of the state government against crime on women and children, he also apprised the Punjabi film industry will get a new destination to shoot films in Bulgaria as per the MoU done with the government of Bulgaria.

Rana Sodhi mentioned that the Punjab government is coming out with a lucrative policy for the sports industry of the state and the target is to take sports industry to 14000 crore from the current 1400 crore. Industry in Jalandhar, Amritsar, Mohali and Patiala will be directly benefitted from this initiative. He mentioned that there is huge scope in Sports industry and this will help in employment generation as well.

While welcoming Rana Sodhi, Mr.RS Sachdeva, Mentor, Punjab Chapter, PHD Chamber mentioned that with the support of Punjab government and Amritsar administration PITEX is getting bigger and better year on year, more than 400 exhibitors are participating this year. While speaking during the program, the Deputy Commissioner mentioned that PITEX is a pride for Amritsar and a favorite destination for not only the neighboring states but for many other countries as well.
