SHIMLA,14.0120-DDBL Charitable Trust (Regd) SHIMLA organized the Traditional “Khichdi” Program at Tatapani along with the 1995 kg kichidi prepared , in association with himachal tourism , him anchal chef association , which is now recorded in the guiness book of records on the auspicious occasion of “makkar sakranti” on the 14th of January 2020.

On this occasion thousands of people from all over the state visited tatapani to have a holy dip in the hot water springs as a tradition.

The above program was organized for the 92nd successive year keeping in mind the high traditions set by our beloved Smt .Durga devi sood in her life time and now the trust has taken up the onus of organizing the same in her memory.

To Till 3:30 pm 7000 people have taken the kichidi parshad

Hon’ble CM Sh Jai Ram Thakur along with MP from Mandi Sh Ram Swarup Sharma , Local MLA Sh Hira Lal , Director Tourism Sh. Yunus , Dc Mandi Rigved Thakur and host of other dignitaries and officials participated in the Kichidi Ceremony. They also took the Khichdi Parsad along with the locals.

A new world record has been made for making 1995 kg of khichdi in a single vessel on Makar Sakranti in Tattapani in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. Earlier, there was a world record for making 918.8 kg of khichdi in a single vessel, which was registered in India's name. Khichdi was weighed in front of Rishi Nath, representative of the Guinness Book of World Records. Its official announcement will now be made in front of Chief Minister Jairam Thakur.

In Tattapani, 25 chefs prepared khichdi in five hours. 405 kg rice, 190 kg pulses, 90 kg ghee, 55 kg spices and 1100 liters of water were used to make this khichdi. Chief Chef NL Sharma said that Khichdi was the main attraction in Tattapani from the tourism department. Rishi Nath, representative of the Guinness Book of World Records, says that now Khichdi's new world record has been created.
