Chandigarh,18.04.15-To promote citizens of Chandigarh connect better with City's heritage, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Chandigarh Council & CITCO are jointly organising a Heritage Walk at the Capitol Complex from 0830-0930 hrs tomorrow, i.e on Sunday, 19 April 2015.

The Capitol Complex is Le Corbusier’s most spectacular work in Chandigarh. The magnificent edifices, set against the Shivalik peaks, stand “as massive concrete sculptures, representing the monumental character authority that the complex represents. It is the seat of the government of the States of Punjab and Haryana. It comprises three epoch-making master-pieces: the Secretariat, the High Court and the Legislative Assembly. Separated by large piazzas, the subtle and most evocative grouping of these buildings is of breath-taking beauty. In the center stands the giant metallic sculpture of The Open Hand, the official emblem of Chandigarh, signifying the city’s credo of ‘open to give’ open to receive’.

Mr Anurag Aggarwal, Home Secretary, Chandigarh Administration is the Chief Guest. Ms Kavita Singh, Director – Tourism & Managing Director, CITCO would also join.

In this context, we cordially invite you & concerned colleagues and photo journalists to join us for the heritage walk at 8:30 am tomorrow at Capitol Complex and kindly cover the proceedings please.
