Chandigarh, June 5, 2017:Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) celebrated World Environment Day with enthusiasm and gusto in the city. It was announced in advance that Pollution Under Control (PUC) check-up of the vehicles would be free of cost at all HPCL Retail Outlets (Petrol Pumps) in Chandigarh. Vehicles were seen lining up to avail the opportunity and also ensuring cleaner Environment in the process.

In the morning, Chandigarh councilor, Ms. Raj Bala Malik, graced our Retail Outlet in Sector 15 to join the celebrations. She wrote a message for the city on a message board put up for citizens to share their thoughts. She wrote, “"Please love nature and take time out to connect to the Mother (nature). Taking care of environment is our responsibility”. She also planted a sapling at the venue.

 A Nukkad Natak was also performed by students bringing out the importance of responsible behavior in saving Environment and Mother Earth. The curious vehicle owners looked and took in the message as the natak gave a strong social message along with a bit of humour.

 A similar activity was also conducted at HPCL Retail Outlet at Sector 20 in the city. These activities are simultaneously being conducted in the Northern Region cities of Chandigarh, Mohali, Delhi, Gurgaon, Jammu, Shimla etc.
